Justin Turner #10 Justin Turner, or JT as he is affectionately known by Dodger fans, is no longer with us as we all know. But I would like to give Justin his due. He was signed as a free agent by Dodgers GM Ned Colletti on Valentine’s Day in 2014. He had originally been drafted…
Clayton Kershaw – He can still pitch with the best of them, but only about 70% of the season. If the Dodgers can manage his health so that he is healthy for the playoffs, then he can pitch another year. $20 Million for 126 IP with a 2.28 ERA and a 0.942 WHIP, then I will take it…
We were discussing, actually, it was just brought up, the impact of Manny Machado when he came to LA in 2018, After the World Series in 18 he became a free agent and left for the Padres. So, I thought I would jump in my way back machine, and stick to LA Dodgers only, seeing what…
If you are going to Spring Training, one of the best things is to go as far into the complex as they let you. I have not been there for a few years, but when I went regularly, I had Press Passes and was able to get everywhere, even the clubhouse, which I rarely did because these…
Joseph Floyd Vaughn: Born March 9th, 1912, in the town of Clifty, Arkansas. His parents, Robert and Laura Vaughn, moved the family to Mendocino, California, when Vaughn was about 7 months old. They would later move to Fullerton, where his father found work in the oilfields. His…
I should have thought of this before, but Andrew Friedman can’t go trading a number of Prospects for Bryan Reynolds without first seeing how Gavin Lux handles SS and, to a lesser degree… how Miguel Vargas handles 2B. If Lux and Vargas settle in as a solid Keystone Combination up…
It appears that Andrew Friedman wasn’t not just posturing as I thought when he said he wasn’t worried about the CBT. After adding journeyman outfielder, David Peralta yesterday and another $6 or $7 Million onto the payroll, it’s clear Friedman is not concerned with re-setting…
We are going to do a Class Participation on this. There is a plethora of statistics by which we define players. With Pitchers, fans traditionally have used win and loses, saves, ERA, SO, BB, and WHIP, but there is also BABIP, DICE, ERA+, and CERA. There are also a vast number of…
There is no denying that Justin Turner was the Dodgers’ Main Clubhouse Leader during his tenure with the team. Of course, Mookie Betts and Clayton Kershaw were also there and are leaders, and what I am about to write is in no way meant to be demeaning to JT, who will always have…
Well, 2023 Spring Training is almost ready to start. Pitchers and catchers report to Camelback Ranch in nine days on the 16th of February. The first full-squad workout is on February 20th. This spring will be different as there will also be the World Baseball Classic. Nine…
This year will be Julio Urias’ 8th season as a Dodger, during which time he has made almost $30 Million Dollars. His next contract will be for ten years and be around $400 Million. He will make more in one season than he has in his whole career. When he hits free agency, he will…
I got to thinking about this the other day when I was researching another story. The unbreakable records. How many even have a chance of being broken? Well in today’s game, one most unlikely to fall is Ripken’s consecutive games played streak. Players today no longer play every…
