That is what James Outman has: “IT!” With his arm, last night, he threw out a runner at the plate, and both of his home runs were “key” to the Dodger’s victory over the Cubs… especially his Grand Slam. “IT” is something that is not definable, and yet it is something that allows…
For the past few years, many of us have complained (myself included) that the Dodgers are an “All or Nothing,” “Feast or Famine” type of team. We have attributed this to the hitting style promoted by Robert Van Socyoc (RVS). Would it surprise you to learn that every other team…
What has been the Dodgers main issue over the last several seasons? A lack of consistent offense. Even though they waltzed through the NL last season, there were times when the offense took the day or a couple of days off. When they scored last season, they did it in bunches…
In the NBA, they change coaches more than some of you change your underwear. The other day, someone asked me, “ Do you wear boxers or briefs? ” I said, “ Depends …” It also might depend on when you ask about Dave Roberts’s shelf life. This is Doc’s 8th year as the Dodger…
Some Dodger fans here think the sun rises and sets in James Outman’s …. eyes! When he burst on the scene last year, he was “otherworldly.” In his four games in 2022, he hit .462, with a 1.409 OPS. Again, he got off to a hot start in 2023. Eric, who vehemently takes exception to…
There were a lot of “firsts” last night: The first walk-off win was the kind of thing that can galvanize a team. Mike Grove pitched his first great game, and (someone else said this), “ Looked like Buehler .” Not bad for a guy who is just trade bait. Disclaimer: I don’t think…
So, here we are back at .500 (7 – 7), and predictably people are losing their minds. They only have one mind (well, some have half of one, but that is something I will leave alone), so that is sad. Here is the stuff we hear after losses and fourteen games: “ Just like Grove…
I predicted that Will Smith would be a good backup catcher… and that was based on his defensive prowess at the time. No one, ZIP, ZERO, or NADA, ever expected him to become a feared power hitter. He has disappointed somewhat on the defensive side. Well, disappointed is not the…
I have read over the last several days many proposals for who the Dodgers should target at the deadline. And the season is 11 days old. Sorry, it is ridiculous to think that the Dodgers’ players on the roster right now will be the same 26 players in September and October. There…
The simple way to blame someone for last night’s debacle ‘er, loss, is to say it was on Dave Roberts for starting Chris Taylor at 3B after Max Muncy’s big night. However, that would be short-sighted as well. Max has not fared well against Alex Wood – having just one hit in 9…
I don’t understand why it happens, but every time the Dodgers go on some kind of losing streak, the novice Dodger fans come out of the woodwork and proudly announce that Andrew Friedman and Dave Roberts are the problems, and they proceed to solve all the problems by getting rid…
Just a few days ago, the Dodgers were 5-2, and now three games and 29 runs given up later, they sit at 5-5 – all of the losses coming at the hands of the Diamondbacks, who may or may not be a .500 club. Regardless of what their ultimate record may be, they’re young and exciting……
