The Good News While the Dodgers couldn t jump out of a boat and hit water last night, the good news was that Rich Hill is rounding into form and becoming the type of starter the Dodgers thought the were getting until he turned into the Poster Child of Blisters. Thanks to Laser Technology, Rich Hill now has a bionic finger (I just made that last part up because it sounded
In the last thread, Tylerdurden31 stated that “If it clear we are one if the best five NL teams. We could be the best right now (even after an abysmal start). Between now and October we will experiment, test, and look for new ways to get production. Occasional failures like today must be tolerated in order to locate the growth potential in our roster. Win games? That’s last year. This
Right now, I trust Yimi Garcia, Pedro Baez, Scott Alexander and Company about as much as I trust a fox to guard the hen house. However, in baseball, many other sports and the stock market, it is best to see what can be, not what is. You don t buy a stock hoping it will stay where it is. You don t get a player who already has a high value unless
Ross Stripling was not sharp last night, but he battled and did a credible job, however Baez owns him (he should never pitch to Baez again just put him on); and I thought Ross was tiring, so I had no issues with Roberts taking him out. He might have done better or it could have been worse. Yasiel Puig took the blame for the loss and rightfully so. He just
Injury News Julio Urias, who has only been throwing off a mound for a few days, hit 88 MPH on the gun yesterday. He is set to thow a couple more bullpen sessions this week and hopes to pitch soon. The Dodgers are very encouraged. I would expect to see him pitching out of the pen this year. After hitting 88 so quickly, I would think he can find another
That sounds like a law firm, like Dewey, Cheatem and Howe . but it s not. Kike Hernandez I suggested this over the Winter and I am going to suggest it again: It s time to play Enrique Hernandez everyday! Yes, I know he has a history of not hitting RH pitching, but he also has a history of hitting some pretty big home runs off RH pitchers. This year, he has 91
I ve always like Fergie Duhamel, back to when she was originally with Wild Orchid, and now she does her own music. In High School, she was a cheerleader, straight-A student, spelling bee champion, and a Girl Scout. She s just the All-American Girl. However, her rendition of The National Anthem at the NBA All-Star Game was a low point. But who can forget her in this song by the Black Eyed Peas? So, Fergie is
I have been making trade proposals for over 40 years now and to date, I have never been right. I was close a very few times, so I keep it up knowing that even blind squirrels occasionally find nuts. Have you ever noticed how skinny blind squirrels are? However, I digress .Yesterday, Always Compete (AC) wrote this in response to my trade proposal for Manny Machado: If you want to get
Willie Calhoun has regressed immensely since the trdae to Texas. He is hitting .276 with a .321 OB% with just 6 HR in 300 Plate Appearances. Everyone knew he couldn t field now it appears he can t hit. Some former Dodger prospects are showing their worth: Andrew Heaney and Zach Eflin are OK starting pitchers. Victor Arano is pitching well in relief for the Phillies. Scott Schebler is having a
Andrew Friedman and Farhan Zaidi ( FAZ ) have built a pretty impressive organization and while some of their moves are questioned by many, I have generally been in agreement with what that have done, even their failures, because I understood the rationale behind even failed decisions. You can t be right all the time, and I understand that. However, I am in disagreement with one major thing and that involves starting pitchers .
Yesterday was my youngest son s 19th birthday, so we had plans to take him out to dinner last night. He s now past the age now where he wants a party like when he turned 18. Like his 18th year of life, his 19th birthday was very eventful. This is the kid who was All-City, All-Conference and All-State in football and was team MVP on a team that won the State
There have been a lot of speculative discussions on a potential trade for Baltimore SS Manny Machado. Bumsrap referred to a May 4, 2018 article from an Orioles fan’s point of view. If I am going to trade for a rental, it can only include players that are replaceable by others in the organization. Alex Verdugo, Mitchell White, and Jeren Kendall are all replaceable, but not Gavin Lux. If the Orioles
