Was Andrew Toles Treated Unfairly?

Andrew Toles was optioned to the minor leagues today, while Joc Pederson made the big club. For the record, I am an Andrew Toles fan I predicted he would be a good player long before he was called up in the first place, but now some fans think he was mistreated when they sent him back to the minors. Was he? You decide: Andrew Toles his .283 this spring,

Max Gamboa and Marcus Chiu

Max Gamboa What an exciting time of the year! Spring has arrived, Spring Training is over in a day or two and minor league play starts on April 5. It doesn t get much more exciting than this other than at the end of regular season play and teams go into extended season play. One can only try to imagine what the minor league players in particular are feeling as they

I m Back Just For a Day!

My oldest son and I got back from Haiti at Midnight. It s heartbreaking to see how the Haitins live, but we are trying to change that. I ll do a blog about it someday soon for those of you who are interested. But, It s Time For Dodger Baseball! I recorded the game last night and speed watched it. I leave for Denver Tuesday AM and will be back on April Fools

Projected OKC and Tulsa Rosters

We have bandied about a potential LAD 25 man roster, so now I want to take a shot at a possible 25 man roster at OKC and Tulsa. One thing we have learned is that FAZ really wants players who can conceivably be called to LA if needed at AAA. At times there may be a player that has advanced quick enough to move to OKC without a real opportunity

The Dilemma (?) of Dodger Relievers

Yesterday, e-6 and Hawkeye were commenting on the relief pitching (or maybe lack thereof) that seems to be coming to LA this upcoming week. When I thought there were going to be only 7 relievers I listed Kenley, Alexander, Baez, Cingrani, Fields, Stripling, and Chargois as the 7. Now that it is back to 8 (at least for right now), I agree with Ken Gurnick that Font will be #8 .

Ginger Thor

A few days ago Mark suggested a trade in his column. The trade included a few Dodger prospects for right-handed reliever Raisel Iglesias of the Cincinnati Reds. Iglesias would be a valuable acquisition as the 28-year-old has had two consecutive very successful years with the Reds. Although I tend to be overly-protective of Dodger minor leaguers, I thought it might indeed be a good trade with one exception. Mark included

Dodgers Opening Day Roster?

The Dodgers are now one week away from playing for real. Kershaw vs Bumgarner to kick off the season. While Kershaw has not been automatic in the playoffs, he is unbeatable in opening games. The Dodgers have been 7-0 in Kershaw’s opening games, including 2 games against the Giants. The Giants fans I know have been drooling especially since JT broke his wrist, and the Dodgers and Giants face off

Dodger Chatter: School is Out

During the 2017 First-Year Player Draft the Dodgers selected five players from the high school ranks. FAZ has shown they are not afraid to select a high school player with their first overall pick having chosen shortstop Gavin Lux in the 2016 June Draft. They also have an interesting high school history with their 11th round picks. 2015 right-hander Iman Abdullah 2016 right-hander A.J Alexy 2017 shortstop

Next Man Up!

It happens! Players get hurt it s just too bad that it is Justin Turner who went down, but if you stop and reflect maybe it will be a blessing in disguise. Justin Turner will likely miss a month or more of the 2018 season for the non-displaced fracture on his left hand. Really, he could miss two months, but the blessing is three-fold: The Dodgers get to see how others

Should We Worry About the Pitching?

I ll get right to the point: You always worry about pitching! So, there is that. However, I do not think we should be overly concerned about pitching on this 2018 version of the Dodgers. A number of Dodger Fans are questioning the Dodgers rotation as well as the Dodger bullpen. Some say that the Dodgers only have one pitcher who can start and go more than four or five innings.

Another French Canadian Reliever For The Dodgers?

Last week DC discussed a Dodger reliever from every level in the organization. Every reliever on that list has the potential to be at least a MLB middle reliever. Some may become high leverage relievers. Zach Pop was certainly drafted last year for just that reason. One other that I started to follow last year in the DSL was Elio Serrano, who could be special. But at 19 he has
