I have identified ten (10) Dodger players who are most vitally important to the Dodgers winning the NL West, NLDS, NLCS and World Series. It s not Manny Machado he will get his. It s an adjustment, but he will be fine, great! It s not Brian Dozier if Doc lets him play everyday, he will put up MVP-type numbers the rest of this season. It s not Clayton Kershaw I
On Saturday, AC had an amazing summary of the Dodgers minor league middle infielders. Two players that were mentioned that have not drawn a lot of attention are third baseman Brandon Montgomery and shortstop Zach McKinstry. Actually their listed position is in name only as they have played at a number of positions during their minor league careers. These guys are among the many foot soldiers in minor league baseball .
A couple of days ago, when the Dodgers won 21-5, I reminded you that you should not get too high that it was only one game! The 14-0 debacle last night is also only one game, but if I were you I would be very worried right about now. Losing to Verlander 2-1 is no shame, but losing 14-0 with the offense being MIA is a sign that these
What a difference a couple of years makes when it comes to middle infield prospects for the LAD. Prior to the 2015 amateur draft, there was one regular SS (Jimmie Rollins), one regular 2B (Howie Kendrick), one utility (Kike’ Hernandez), and one prospect (Corey Seager) at SS. Chase Utley was added later in the year. There really was no other prospect. In the 2015 draft, Gasparino’s crew selected: Willie
21-5 is nice, but it s the same when the Dodgers win 1-0. It only counts as one win. It s the same when the Dodgers lose in the 16th inning because Kike is a horrible pitcher! You can t get too high when you win, or too low when you lose. A win is a win and a loss is a loss no more, no less! But damn, it is fun
It has been reported that Dave Roberts told Brain Dozier he would not play everyday and in the truest sense of the word, that may be true. He may get a day off now and again, but there s no way Doc is not writing his name in permanent marker on the lineup card. Where he hits in the order is the only thing up for debate. You can make a
I just like that headline! I do have to admit that just losing Logan Forsythe makes them better. So, there is that. I hope Logan does well in Minnesota or wherever he lands next year, but great guy that he is, he was an unmitigated disaster in LA. Well, In guess Manny Machado does make them better as well yeah A LOT BETTER! The Dodgers gave up eight, count em
Left-hander John Rooney made his third appearance of the 2018 season on Monday night, the first in the Class A Midwest League. Rooney was a bit surprisingly selected by the Dodgers in the third round of the 2018 First-Year Player Draft. The 6’5”/235-pound native of Melrose, New York attended Hoosie Valley High School in Schaghticoke where he posted a 35-0 win-loss record. That is not a typo. Following graduation he
Just a couple of years ago at age 18, Julio Urias was the Dodgers Top Prospect. He was off-limits in any trade discussions. He was the heir apparent to Clayton Kershaw as the Dodgers Ace. As a rookie, he was much better than Clayton not even up for debate! The Dodgers handled him with kid gloves and then the unthinkable happened. He was injured and had anterior capsule surgery
Yesterday Mark made a good argument as to why the Dodgers might want to stand pat. Today I would like to make an argument as to why the Dodgers should consider another move or two. I understand the thought that with how the Dodgers are built right now they can compete and win the NL West. I understand why many believe the team should stay as is and let the team
Maybe this is what happens at the trade deadline: Rotoworld Injury Updates Hyun-Jin Ryu (groin) pitched two innings in a simulated game on Wednesday. Next up is a three-inning simulated appearance Saturday in Los Angeles. The left-hander will likely begin a minor league rehab assignment after that. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Friday that Julio Urias (shoulder) is a serious candidate to work out of the club s bullpen down the
MLB Pipeline came out with their top 100 MLB prospects, and a new Top 30 for each team. The MLB Pipeline prospect list is put together by Jim Callis and Jonathan Mayo, two excellent minor league and amateur talent evaluators. Padres – 4 Top 25; 1 top 26-50; 2 top 51 to 75; 1 top 76 to 100 Top 100 = 8 Braves – 2 Top
