While it is clear that Yamamoto has some very filthy stuff, he finished Spring Training with a 8.38 ERA. In 9.2 IP, he allowed 15 Hits and 9 ER. He walked 4 and struck out 14. It also has been rumored that he is tipping pitches. I heard someone say, “ It doesn’t matter if he ‘s…
We learned a lot about Tyler Glasnow yesterday and why he is unquestionably now the Dodgers’ Ace. Lest we forget, he has had a singular injury problem, not plural problems. He has had just one injury that was undiagnosed for four years. It was fixed and he now looks healthy as a…
Under Andrew Friedman’s leadership since 2015, the Dodgers have a winning percentage of . 623 (845-512) , including a franchise record 111 wins in the 2022 season as well as a club-best . 717 winning percentage during the shortened 2020 season (43-17).There is a lot more to the…
A lot of Dodger fans have been impressed with Chris Okey, Austin Gauthier, and Andy Pages. That’s fine. I like them too, but none will be on the team out of Spring Training… unless disaster strikes. Spring Training is just that: Training of your body and Training to play…
Bear asked about this yesterday: The Dodgers signed Sauryn Lao out of the Dominican Republic in 2016 when he was 16 years old. In his seven minor league seasons, he has played every infield position. He averaged .253 with .744 OPS over those seasons. Just when it looked like he…
Yesterday, the Dodgers announced that Mookie Betts and Gavin Lux were going to switch positions. I first suggested this last year after watching Mookie play SS for a few games. Mookie is a natural SS… a natural infielder who adapted very well to RF and 2B, but right about now…
Just not at SS! Gavin Lux is OK at 2B, where he will be a “hit-first” player, or I would not be surprised if some team tried to convert him to CF. He cannot play SS and Dave Roberts said as much. Unless Mookie gets injured, there is not a spot for him on the Roster. That doesn’t…
Unless you wear “blinders,” I am sure you already know where this is going and it pisses you off to no end. They say “ The Truth Hurts.” But, THEY say a lot, don’t they ? OK, just the facts ma’am, OK: This offseason, the Dodgers have added three shortstops to their systems…
No, not for the Dodgers, but rather for me. I wrote this column last night after the game and I plan to write another one tomorrow, but it has been a whirlwind the past few days. Here’s a re-cap going back to last October: October – Had a cardioversion which was successful in…
So many times, we read things that are written where the writer’s only objective is to try and prove some point. As an example (and I am not going to be labor this point), I read a piece in the Washington Post called The zombie CVS, a late-capitalism horror story . It starts out…
It’s March 2nd and the Dodgers head to Korea on the 14th or the 15th, so it is getting late… very early. Miguel Vargas fate is sealed as he looks totally lost and is headed for OKC. Like Gavin Lux, his problems appear to be all in his head. There are only eleven more games (not…
I am not going to belabor this point, but I am going to address it since it is a real thing: In the past, I have let too many bad actors and passive-aggressive commenters into this blog . No names will be mentioned, but I think we all know who they are/were. Passive-aggressive…
