In the 2024 MLB draft, James Tibbs III was taken 13 th overall by San Francisco. He is now a top prospect at AAA for LAD. CWS RF Braden Montgomery made his MLB debut on my birthday (June 9), in story-book fashion with a walk-off 2-run HR in the 10 th off Raisel Iglesias for the…
NOTE: I wrote this BEFORE the Dodgers announced that Will Smith was going on the IL, Will Smith has been one of the best, if not THE best, catchers in baseball for the past few years. But Will Smith is not a big guy – he is on the smallish side, while Dalton Rushing is a little…
In 1957, Brooklyn Dodgers owner, Walter O’Malley, finally gave up on his dream of building a state-of-the-art ballpark in Brooklyn. He had been fighting with Robert Moses, who was in charge of all new construction for the City of New York for several years. Walter had purchased…
As of 06/08/2026 – 8 weeks until the trade deadline. You know…it is way, way, way, way too early to be discussing deadline trades. Right now there are just a handful of teams that would be considered as sure sellers: Rockies, Angels, and probably Giants. The Tigers and Royals…
Some things are never meant to be spoken of again. Yesterday was one of those days. The Angels beat the Dodgers like rented mules. Erase it from your memory banks. Move on… Nothing to see here, Folks. The Dodgers got mauled by the Angels. This is unspeakable! One game means…
But… he gets it right more than most of us! I am not going to name names (OK, I’ll name one: Mark Timmons), but many Dodger fans have been extremely hard on Roki Sasaki, AND Andrew Friedman, and Brandon Gomes (by extension), saying that Roki needed to go to OKC to learn to…
Baseball America has released their June revision of their Top 100 prospects, and the Dodgers are well represented. They have a top ten prospect in 21 year old AA OF Josue De Paula. He climbed from #11 to #5. It was not just because of all the graduations. JDP has distinguished…
Over the last couple of years, the Dodgers have primarily used a closer by committee mindset. Since Kenley Jansen left via free agency, LA has not found a lock down guy. Jansen left in 2022 and took his 350 career saves to that point with him. They traded for Kimbrel in 22. Had…
What do you do when you don’t need to do anything? The Dodgers now have the 2nd best record in baseball… 2 games behind the Braves (whom I believe will soon fade). If Kyle Tucker is finally figuring it out (I am not saying he is… but I now have hope), and if Mookie Betts can be…
Not long ago during an interview, Dodger first baseman Freddie Freeman said he wanted to play four more years which would give him 20 in the majors and take him to his age 40 season. His reasons for this are his goal of reaching 3,000 hits and finishing with a .300 batting…
I am not just asking for MiLB to MLB, but for every ladder of the organization. It is widely suggested that once a player reaches and succeeds at AA, he is deemed near MLB ready. That does not mean they are deemed future MLB stars or even regulars. There have been a handful of…
OKC Comets 5 – Sugar Land Space Cowboys (Houston) 1 OKC got some excellent pitching both from LHSP Cole Irvin and the 3 relievers. https://twitter.com/OKC_comets/status/2061191287273848899?s=20 OKC got the first run on DH James Tibbs III’s solo HR (17) in the 4 th inning. Irvin…
