The Dodgers are the class of the National League once again at the midway mark for the season and with the All-Star game upon us. Voting is complete and the starters have been selected by the fans. The reserves are selected by a combination of a Player Ballot where coaches…
One of the players who I respected the most when I was growing up was Ernie Banks. I do not think I have ever seen anyone who enjoyed playing more than he did. He always had a great smile and the man could hit. The man loved the game. Ernest Banks was born in Dallas Texas, on…
As you know, a couple of weeks ago I went to Ft. Wayne to see the Great Lakes Loons play the Ft. Wayne Tin Caps and interview some future Dodgers. Earlier this week, I posted the interview with Future Dodger Manager Austin Chubb (I just made that up, but who says it won’t…
Mitch White took a No-No into the 6th inning last night. Tyler Anderson has flirted with one. So has Clayton and then there are Tony Gonsolin and Julio Urias who are even better. When healthy, Andrew Heaney has looked unhittable, Dustin May is getting close and Walker Buehler is…
A couple of weeks ago, I made the short trek from Indianapolis to Ft. Wayne, Indiana to see the Great Lakes Loons play the Ft. Wayne Tin Caps. I have to say that the Loons front office was simply amazing. Chris Mundhenk (President and GM) and Brad Tunney (Announcer and Director…
Full disclosure : Mark asked me to write earlier this year, but the strike, errr… lockout came and I might have used it as an excuse to not get going with it. That and I find it very comfortable to read Mark’s take in the morning and use my time writing as a warm-up to get my…

A large number of other blogs give you a blow-by-blow game recap. It’s a free country (well… maybe) and you can do that, but it might drive you crazy. See, it’s a 162-game season and if you micro-manage every game, it might really drive you crazy… or at least skew your vision…
This is just some random guy, but he nailed it! Like everyone else, I seek patience… and I want it NOW, Damnit! I admit that I have lost patience with Gavin Lux, Justin Turner, Cody Bellinger, Max Muncy, and Robert Van Socyoc. Yes, the guy who preaches patience doesn’t practice…
It has always been hard for me to rank the Top Ten Dodger Prospects, but I am going to give it a stab here before to the All-Star Break. Sometimes the criteria for ranking prospects is a little hazy to define. Do you rank a AAA player who is close to being MLB-Ready higher than…
The last Dodger no-hitter was a combined effort by Buehler, Tony Cingrani, Yimi Garcia and Adam Liberatore against the Padres in Mexico City, Mexico on May 4, 2018. It was the first combined no hitter in team history, and it was also the first no hitter thrown outside of the…
I hate to say I told you so, but I told you I did not think Clayton Kershaw would pitch well last night. After the game was over Clayton said: “ I’m not going to overthink it. “I just sucked today. I haven’t been that bad in a long time.” What was first? The chicken or the egg…
