The Dodgers have been patient with Chris Taylor this year and FINALLY… he is coming around. That is good news! Well, now he is out… maybe for the season, which is likely bad news! This time last year, the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Texas Rangers were in a bad place, and only a lunatic would have predicted they would make the playoffs—let alone play for the World Championship! Let that sink in for a moment! For every Lou Gehrig, there is a Wally Pipp. This is a crazy game…. and I love it!

Tyler Glasnow looked like he had not pitched for three weeks last night. Robbie Ray looked like he had not pitched for 460 days in the first inning last night and then proceeded to look like Sandy Koufax for the next four innings. I guess you have to win some and lose some. The Dodgers are still 7.5 games ahead of the Morons from San Diego and eight games ahead of the D-Bags.

It’s a very strong possibility that Miguel Rojas and Chris Taylor are done for the year. Flexor and groin strains tend to be on the really bad side. The Dodgers have to realize that. Maybe there is a bat in the system (Ryan Ward, Andre Lipcuis, et al.) that could fill in, but most likely, they will have to execute a trade. Gavin Lux and Kike Hernandez suddenly become vitally important. Nick Amed can pick it, so they have to hit it. The next three weeks will be challenging!

Today, at 1:10 PDT/4:10 EDT the G.O.A.T. takes to the mound in the final game against the Morons by the Bay. Tomorrow, it is off to see the Cheaters! My stepson and his wife will be here this weekend to spend three weeks with us… Of course, the fact that he lives in San Francisco, we have a lot to talk about! 😉 I have to confess that I have not worked much this summer – I will do better in the fall! Really, I will…

The Dodgers win five in a row and then lose a game, and the IDIOT MORONS just start trashing the team. It’s sad and hilarious! They just can’t help themselves… because they are idiots and morons. What do you expect?

Go get Brett Rooker and Mason Miller from the As. And if they could get Hornier and Bellinger from Cubs do that improve the outfield with Teo heennandez Bellinger and Rooker and get Mason Miller as closer. And get this as a starter they get Jack Flarethy the LA kid comes home. Other moves I like to see Vlad Guerrero fo be the first baseman with the Giants. Jessie Winkler to the Braves. And Ryan McMahon and Jazz Chrisom to the Yankees. Erik Fedde to the Brewers and Max Scherzer to the San Diego Padres. See if any of these trades happen

  2. M. NorrisJuly 26, 2024

Rays traded Arozarena to the Mariners for Aidan Smith, Brody Hopkins and a player to be named later. Both are low A prospects. # 12 and # 22 prospects for the Mariners. Apparently LA did not really want Arozarena. They could have easily matched or beaten that offer. Guess we will have to see what AF has in mind.

  3. JoeZJuly 26, 2024

Would you guy’s consider trading for the Cubs pitcher Jaimeson Taillon?

  4. JohnJuly 26, 2024

Just a thought. When the Dodgers starters get healthy and built up and hopefully no more major injuries, we will have a glut of young very good pitchers. In the playoffs a team needs four starters. My guess is some of the young studs that don’t make the top four will be considered for the bullpen in the playoffs. Buehler is pitching Friday at OKC, our bullpen could be nails come the playoffs. That is why we don’t need to waste capital on pitchers like Puk. If we go the rest of the season with a six man rotation or have players skip a start now and then come October you ride the pitchers who are on a roll. Bobby Miller coming out of the pen if his control woes are overcame would be great for the Dodgers as would Buehler etc. Grove looked great at OKC last night.

D’backs have just traded for AJ Puk.

Gave up their #14 and #30 prospects.

We could have had him and he’s been great ever since they stopped starting him earlier in the year and put him back in the bullpen. Sorry we let this one get away. He has 2.5 years of control remaining.

    Top 7th

    Defensive Sub

Defensive Substitution: Jake Vogel replaces left fielder Josue De Paula, batting 2nd, playing right field.

    Defensive Switch

Defensive switch from right field to left field for Luis Rodriguez.

I hope this is nothing more than giving Depaula a rest as the Loons are getting pounded tonight in the 7th

  7. dodgerdadJuly 26, 2024

thank goodness doc doesn’t decide who stays and who doesn’t! He probably would have kept Ramirez and shipped Honeywell ou!!! ….. Clayton wasn’t real sharp, but his curve was money!! Pages completely misplayed that ball in the 1st. probably not a centerfielder. down the road. .. Amed ? yes. Biggio? no!!

  8. Singing the BlueJuly 25, 2024

Keith Law out with his revised Top 60 Prospects.

    DePaula moves up to 14.

    Rushing moves up to 31.

He expects Rushing to be traded in the next few days.

I’d love to get Hoerner but I think it would probably take Lux plus one of our young pitchers. Maybe they would take Sheehan since they aren’t going anywhere this year so wouldn’t need him until 2025.

Happ is also interesting, especially since he’s a switch hitter who can also play 2B and 3B besides the outfield. He is two years older than Arozarena, though, and his salary is quite a bit higher.

I’m a big Outman fan. I love his attitude and hustle, but I don’t expect to see him in the organization next year. I think they may have brought him to LA because the other MLB cities have better flight connections from here than they do from OKC. 🙂

  17. Duke Not SniderJuly 25, 2024

The reports about the Cubs scouting the Dodgers’ farm system have become more interesting with Taylor joining Rojas on the IL.

Nico Hoerner would be a great fit, able to play both SS and 2B. Lux + ?? might do the trick for Hoerner. Hoerner probably could also play 3B if needed.

Ian Happ would be a solid upgrade in the OF, but Arozarena and Robert are more exciting options.

Glad to see Outman have a fresh opportunity. Unless the Dodgers land Robert, Outman could be a platoon partner for Pages in CF. He certainly seems to be the best defensive CF on the roster.

Pages has been great against lefties, producing a team-best .338 BA and .861 OPS. But against righties, a .222 BA and .642 OPS.

I’m not sure what the rap is on Ryan Ward. But in OKC, he’s been hitting righties to a 1.011 OPS. For the season, he’s batting .289 with 26 HRs, which I think leads the league. If Ward was a good defender, I assume we’d have seen him in LA by now.

But as things shake out, perhaps he could get chance…either in LA or with a trade partner.

    Bear,

That’s a good point on Ray.

But I’m still concerned with Glasnow,

Since the last week in May he has pitched to a 4.23 era.

    Is it innings or injury?

He pitched tough yesterday, but could have been a lot worse without the 2 Double Plays

    I believe he

    Will be okay

I’m just not sure he will be the ace.

He will need another break for a couple of weeks , probably late august or early sept

If Outman is coming up I’ll be

Interested to see the other moves, that’s 5 outfielders.

Is Vargas going down and a AAA infielder coming up OR

Is Vargas going to play some 3rd base

Buehler (hip) said Wednesday that he will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.

“Buehler added that he felt good following his bullpen session Tuesday, so he will now advance to facing minor-league hitters. The plan is for the 29-year-old right-hander to rejoin the Dodgers’ rotation once he’s made two rehab starts in Triple-A, per Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic, putting Buehler in line to return sometime during the Dodgers’ early-August series against the Phillies”.

  20. M. NorrisJuly 25, 2024

Dodgers signed starting pitcher, Jordan Lyles to a minor league contract. Lyles was released by the Royals back in April. Lyles was originally drafted and signed by Houston. He has spent time in the majors with the Astros, Rockies, Royals, Rangers, Padres, Brewers, Pirates and the Orioles. He has played in parts of 14 seasons. Career 72-107 record with a 5.22 ERA.

  21. M. NorrisJuly 25, 2024

To be honest, Ray may not have pitched in the majors in 460 days, but he has pitched in 10 games during his re-hab this year. So, he had pitched more than Glasnow has over the last three weeks. Roberts said last night on the post-game show that James Outman was on his way to LA, so they will need two roster spots. Ramirez and Taylor to the IL.

  22. BobbyJuly 25, 2024

Anyone going today to see the Kersh vs SF? Let’s link up!

I’ll assume this Ramirez fella is on his way out for Kershaw; thank you for your 2 good months, but no thank you for your last several appearances. Best of luck!
