Why do so few people post when the Dodgers win? With each win in a row, the posts go down inversely to how much the Dodgers win. I guess people love to bitch more than enjoy a win. (SIGH!). With regards to what I call the Andrew Friedman Era, let s look at the Dodger s team scoring average per game, year-over-year: 2015 4.10 Runs per game 2016 4.40 Runs
It s amazing to me that after 25 games, fans can pronounce a certain player or players as failures. If they are really that good, they should be making millions helping teams make those decisions. If they happen to not be making millions for those decisions, then maybe they really aren t as qualified as they believe. If they bench guys like Taylor, Hernandez, Barnes, et al, how are they ever going
I wanted Chris Sale at the 2016 trade deadline when he was burning bridges with the ChiSox. I cannot fault management because he was not traded until the Winter, and I have no idea as to who Chicago was demanding. We can speculate all we want, but nobody here knows. I was a strong advocate for Justin Verlander at the 2017 trade deadline, but understood why the Dodgers did not
Yeah, it s less than a month, but I have seen enough. Right field belongs to Alex Verdugo. Book em, Dano! Now, I know that Cody Bellinger is a pretty dang good right-fielder too, but Cody is also a good CF and a Gold Glove 1st Baseman. It s pretty apparent why Andrew Friedman was loathe to trade Verdugo . The kid will be a star. I said it, I meant it
Mark goes with Rants and Raves, and DC now has his Bites and Bits, so I might as well come up with my own Random Thoughts. I cannot get too excited about the last two losses. It really was to be expected in April, at least by me. Admittedly, I am having a tough time getting excited about this early part of the season. It is going better than I thought
Mark uses “Rants and Raves” so I will use “Bites and Bits” to avoid any copyright infringement with Mark or Bits and Bites Snack Mix. Actually I have little to rant and rave about but have some small pieces of somewhat innocuous “stuff” that I will post. Some things that just popped into my head during the past few days or that I stumbled upon. Some of it might be
Dodgers first baseman/outfielder Cody Bellinger has gained much attention from Dodger fans and the baseball world in general, and deservedly so. He has the making of a superstar. For those of us that follow the teams down on the farm, another Cody has been wending his way along after a late start to baseball. If he hasn’t been noticed before, he has gained some attention with a three-home run performance
The sky is not falling and the end is not near, but I think the Dodger Brass should have a new End Game and that end is to figure out who to close games instead of Kenley Jansen and before we even get started, don t say Craig Kimbrel because he could be a step down from Kenley. Kenley s latest blown save and subsequent win is a microcosm of his last
I wanted to wait and post this after a Dodger loss, for obvious reasons. So, today seemed as good a time as any. Let s go back to when Kemp, Puig, Wood and Farmer were traded to the Reds, and many garden-variety Dodger fans were aghast. Listen to what they said: Judging The Dodgers Puig, Kemp Trade to The Reds, Possibly One of The Worst in Dodgers History Friedman better go
The following is from a recent interview by Loons play-by-play announcer Brad Tunney with Dodger prospect Josiah Gray. He was the first Division II player selected in the 2018 First-Year-Player Draft out of Le Moyne College in Syracuse, New York. His path to becoming the Dodgers No. 17 prospect by MLB Pipeline is indeed unlikely as he came out of high school with no real outlook for a career in
If Alex Verdugo can throw a 98.4 MPH seed from LF to Home Plate to gun down a poor defenseless runner, he can probably throw 103 MPH off a mound. The Dodgers should immediately convert him back to a pitcher. Jim Callis and Mike Rosenbaum of MLB.com anointed Dennis Santana as the Dodgers future closer. However, AC and I did that a year ago. He s the Dodgers future closer unless
Lots of other blogs give you a game recap. There are billions of those blogs and they do a good job. I just try and give you another perspective, win or lose. When they win, they are t this king of the world and when they lose, they are not the scum of the earth. I try and keep even keel and eliminate knee-jerk reactions. After sweeping the Reds, the Dodgers
