The sky is falling! The Dodgers are doomed! Kershaw and Ryu are through! We can t win with Jansen as the closer. Bellinger has regressed to the mean! I just hope that these die-hard Dodger “Homeys” are not fooled by all these wins, because the negatives will be more apparent as they get into the playoffs. I think that Colletti did just as good of job with way less money and
Opinions are like Well, you know the rest, but here s the difference. Opinions are welcome here, A-Holes are not. At the company I run (US Water Systems), we have 10 Core Values ranging from We Don t Panic to We are fair but not suckers to our 10th Core Value which is We do not tolerate Assholes. Pardon our French, but there is no better way to say it. Snarky, divisive
A comparison was drawn between Jeff Shaw and Kenley Jansen and I would say that is appropriate. Kenley certainly isn t as good as he once was, but he s not as bad as many of you think. It was suggested that Corey Seager should sit and the odds of that are slim and none. He s not 100% back, but he s leading the league in doubles and he s not going to get
Who is your favorite minor league player in the Dodger pipeline? I suppose we shouldn’t have favorites as every player has the same goal and is doing all he can to reach the highest level he can, hopefully, MLB. I have a lot of players I follow but I expect my number one favorite is Zach McKinstry. I also expect my perception of Zach is out of the mainstream and
I’m very grateful to Mark T. for covering for me yesterday. I spent the last 4 days in Las Vegas at a Trial Lawyers Conference, attended by approximately 3,500 attorneys. Some people might think that being surrounded by this many attorneys is as close as you can possibly get to hell on earth but, alas, it’s my profession and I survived unscathed. As Willie Nelson sang in “Me and Paul”
I wish that the Dodgers had traded for Nicholas Castellanos who has been transformational for the Cubs since being traded to them. He is hitting .336 with a .373 OB% and a 1.062 OPS to go with 9 Doubles and 11 HR in 119 AB s. However, to be fair, I have to wonder how he would do in LA. AC pitched DJ LeMahieu as the Dodgers 2B and he is
“What we do see depends mainly on what we look for. In the same field the farmer will notice the crop, the geologists the fossils, botanists the flowers, artists the colouring, sportmen the cover for the game. Though we may all look at the same things, it does not all follow that we should see them.” ― John Lubbock, The Beauties of Nature and the Wonders of the World We Live
I have come to a stage in my life in which I just want to enjoy life, the winning, the losing, the draws. My love for the team and the game is not diminished by a loss. It is disappointing but if disappointment is my big issue for a day I am having a pretty good day. In my many years, there has not been even one day in which
I love the movie, Legends of the Fall and so with the kickoff of the Arizona Fall League, I always use this as an excuse to play this Ending Scene from the movie: The Arizona Fall League begins play this year on September 18, and there are a plethora of Top Prospects invited to play. Here is the Dodger list so far (it could be added to) for the Glendale
For a couple of months, some Dodger fans have been saying that Keibert Ruiz will be traded with the rise of Will Smith and now Conner Wong. Dirk Calderwood said it best: So Dodgers will trade the best most talented hitter in their farm? He asked that question like it was totally absurd and it turns out he 100% is right. It s at least as absurd as trading Alex Verdugo,
The minor league season is quickly drawing to a close. It seems impossible but it is so. The good news is that five of the Dodgers affiliates will extend their season a bit by competing for the league championship. Those five affiliates are AZL Dodgers Mota, Ogden Raptors, Great Lakes Loons, Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, and Tulsa drillers. End-of-Season All-Stars to date: Some leagues have not yet announced the All-Stars. Twenty-year-old
After losing the series 2-1 last weekend to the Dark Side the Dodgers are in fine shape. The hitters have been in a funk since after the All-Star Break, but it hard to keep focused when you are 20+ games ahead of the nearest team in your division and are about to clinch a playoff spot in August. Dave Roberts has dialed-down the intensity and is resting players as much
