I keep hearing that the Los Angeles Dodgers are very undisciplined hitters. They’re swinging wildly at everything the pitcher throws up there. Otani, Pages, Teoscar, and others. It sounds like the Dodgers are the worst team in baseball. Would it surprise you that the Dodgers are second in runs scored? They are only eight runs behind the New York Yankees. The Dodgers are second in OPS. INTERESTINGLY, THEY ARE SECOND IN HOME RUNS, BUT THEY’RE ONLY 14TH IN STRIKEOUTS! This is despite the fact that they have suffered many injuries throughout the year, as well as had several players underperform at times.
I sometimes think we are watching a different game. When the Dodgers get all their injured players back, it would be no surprise to see them lead all of Major League Baseball in runs. Of course, most Dodger fans expect more. I’m pretty sure that the Dodgers are not going to cut Michael Conforto now. I guess history will be the judge of whether that was the right move or not.
What about the pitching? Well, the Dodgers are 18th in MLB in ERA since the start of the season. However, over the last 30 days, the team ERA is 3.34, which is suitable for number three in all of MLB… and it’s only going to get better. Frankly, with more players getting back this week and next, I think the Dodgers are looking pretty good.
This pain medication is kicking my butt. I am just testing out the Dragon software. Piece out!

Disagree, not disagreeable
Roberts knows why the team sucks:
So another anemic day at the plate, spoiling Glasnow’s strong start….
It’s true that our Dodgers rank second to the Yanks in OPS for the season.
But over the past 30 days, our Dodgers rank 11th.
And over the past 15 days, they rank 17th.
So this team has been slumping. The champ’s offense has been at about at a league-average level. Mediocre.
And now September is here–and Max’s return may be delayed.
Bad base-running decisions by Freddie and Kike cost us big time. Looked like a safe at home but sliding would have got him in under the tag. Below 500 recently and playing like it. Lasorda would have let them know about it, veteran or not. If our starter busts his ass and gives us 7 innings, we need to support him better.
I sure hope they’re embarrassed the way they played the last couple games.
So, they score two today and that’s it? At this rate, in a week they’ll be a strong and powerful team again, worthy of contending and winning another World Series.
Oh, and keep using Smith at the top of the lineup, the man has been killing it lately!
THis team appeared fundamentally unsound yesterday. not only the baserunning errors. Glasnow’s failure to back up 3B cost a run. Teo’s failure to catch the “double” cost a run or two. Generally sloppy play everywhere. No hitting with men on base or RISP. Yet another Kirby Yates HR. This team is not playing championship baseball.
Never seen such a veteran team fail at basic fundamentals like this defending championship team. Things that we all learned in Pony League. Simple things like how to properly back up third base,. Or coach home plate as the on deck hitter.
It’s lollygagging in the worst sense. Damn Mookie, you couldn’t hustle a few steps to be in Kike’s line of site when he was running home?
Glasnow backing up the throw between third and home. This isn’t the first time either and I’ve seen Kershaw fail to back up a base in other games. If Pages is throwing, you better back in place to field the overthrow.
Wow, even Miguel Rojas failed to secure a throw into second base that hit hit flesh in the pocket of his mitt gave up an extra 90 feet.
Just a sloppy, sloppy effort from so many. That was a game given away by a team that can’t afford to give them away. Just an embarrassment!
