I keep hearing that the Los Angeles Dodgers are very undisciplined hitters. They’re swinging wildly at everything the pitcher throws up there. Otani, Pages, Teoscar, and others. It sounds like the Dodgers are the worst team in baseball. Would it surprise you that the Dodgers are second in runs scored? They are only eight runs behind the New York Yankees. The Dodgers are second in OPS. INTERESTINGLY, THEY ARE SECOND IN HOME RUNS, BUT THEY’RE ONLY 14TH IN STRIKEOUTS! This is despite the fact that they have suffered many injuries throughout the year, as well as had several players underperform at times.

I sometimes think we are watching a different game. When the Dodgers get all their injured players back, it would be no surprise to see them lead all of Major League Baseball in runs. Of course, most Dodger fans expect more. I’m pretty sure that the Dodgers are not going to cut Michael Conforto now. I guess history will be the judge of whether that was the right move or not.

What about the pitching? Well, the Dodgers are 18th in MLB in ERA since the start of the season. However, over the last 30 days, the team ERA is 3.34, which is suitable for number three in all of MLB… and it’s only going to get better. Frankly, with more players getting back this week and next, I think the Dodgers are looking pretty good.

This pain medication is kicking my butt. I am just testing out the Dragon software. Piece out!

Never seen such a veteran team fail at basic fundamentals like this defending championship team. Things that we all learned in Pony League. Simple things like how to properly back up third base,. Or coach home plate as the on deck hitter.

It’s lollygagging in the worst sense. Damn Mookie, you couldn’t hustle a few steps to be in Kike’s line of site when he was running home?

    https://youtube.com/shorts/CZnnjWqPycA?si=aVTDwn4D_zPLI5wE

Glasnow backing up the throw between third and home. This isn’t the first time either and I’ve seen Kershaw fail to back up a base in other games. If Pages is throwing, you better back in place to field the overthrow.

Wow, even Miguel Rojas failed to secure a throw into second base that hit hit flesh in the pocket of his mitt gave up an extra 90 feet.

Just a sloppy, sloppy effort from so many. That was a game given away by a team that can’t afford to give them away. Just an embarrassment!

  2. dodgerrickAugust 31, 2025

THis team appeared fundamentally unsound yesterday. not only the baserunning errors. Glasnow’s failure to back up 3B cost a run. Teo’s failure to catch the “double” cost a run or two. Generally sloppy play everywhere. No hitting with men on base or RISP. Yet another Kirby Yates HR. This team is not playing championship baseball.

  3. Jorge ValenzuelaAugust 31, 2025

So, they score two today and that’s it? At this rate, in a week they’ll be a strong and powerful team again, worthy of contending and winning another World Series.

Oh, and keep using Smith at the top of the lineup, the man has been killing it lately!

  4. porpoiseboyAugust 31, 2025

I sure hope they’re embarrassed the way they played the last couple games.

  5. Daytona JackAugust 31, 2025

Bad base-running decisions by Freddie and Kike cost us big time. Looked like a safe at home but sliding would have got him in under the tag. Below 500 recently and playing like it. Lasorda would have let them know about it, veteran or not. If our starter busts his ass and gives us 7 innings, we need to support him better.

  6. Duke Not SniderAugust 31, 2025

So another anemic day at the plate, spoiling Glasnow’s strong start….

It’s true that our Dodgers rank second to the Yanks in OPS for the season.

But over the past 30 days, our Dodgers rank 11th.

And over the past 15 days, they rank 17th.

So this team has been slumping. The champ’s offense has been at about at a league-average level. Mediocre.

And now September is here–and Max’s return may be delayed.

Roberts knows why the team sucks:

Does AI know why we suck?

  9. MichaelAugust 31, 2025

Does anybody on this team know how to bunt and advance runners? Tired of seeing leadoff man get on base and go nowhere.

  10. SummerboyAugust 31, 2025

    Yikes! Kike….

okay let’s see how the speech management software is going to work. I guess Tyler Glass now is not fish tonight. Well I guess it doesn’t understand very well. Maybe is going fish tonight who knows. And maybe years Glass now. This is supposed to be the best software program in the nation I think it’s lacking a lot. I guess it’s kind like train your Dragon I get to train my software my Dragon software I suspect this Dragon software is a moron.

Okay well that’s about all the damage I can do today talk to you later

  17. Mark TimmonsAugust 30, 2025

    OFF PAIN MEDS TODAY!

  18. Mark TimmonsAugust 30, 2025

I saw a lot of hard-hit balls last night. While it was definitely not a great offense of night, I felt like the Dodgers hit enough to score…it was just one of those nights

I keep looking for Eduardo Quintero to do something, because they say he is a beast. However I have not seen it yet. Maybe I’m missing something!

I think Tyler glass now due to put up a good game tonight.

This damn speech software is funny sometimes.

  19. dodgerdadAugust 30, 2025

give credit where credit is due. Gallen was very good. dodgers were not. Snell pitched well except for one or two pitches. Some batters were patient, some were not. they probably score 11 runs today! And 3 tomorrow! the twins handed the dodgers a surprise gift last night and they didn’t take advantage of it. i wouldn’t count on any more help from them. …. looks like the boys in blue will see Paul Skeenes in pittsburgh, oh joy! could he be another mike trout? wasting away in obscurity his entire career. probably not, but possible. yankees will come hard after another pirates ace! ….. We all chuckle at Bradley’s trade ideas . But he may be spot on with his Teo idea. it’s very possible he could be traded this offseason. A guy named Tucker could look really nice in right field!

Dave Roberts said next weekend’s series in Baltimore is still target for Muncy to return from IL,” Dodgers writer Bill Plunkett wrote.

    Dodgers Daily

    @dodger_daily

    Adam Serwinowski…AGAIN!

    Tonight’s final line

    7IP | 4H | 1R | 12Ks | 0BB

Season highs with 7 innings and 12 Ks, and he tied a record that can never be broken with 0 walks.

Serwinowski has a 1.64 ERA since he joined the Dodgers at the beginning of August, and his average against is just .177. We’re gonna be hearin’ a LOT about this dude! #dodgers

One of the players the Dodgers received from the Rays for catcher Hunter Feduccia.

  22. Duke Not SniderAugust 30, 2025

Sort of perfect timing for the offense to disappear against the Dbacks. Only three hits and 4 walks.

    Longenhagen Chat:

    https://blogs.fangraphs.com/eric-longenhagen-prospects-chat-8-29-25/

vitaK: It’s pretty early but any thoughts on charles davalan?

Eric A Longenhagen: Someone told me he had the best measurable bat speed among this year’s SEC draftees. Smaller guy, nice little hitter, uses the ground well. I like him.

Drew: Is Eduardo Quintero really a top 50 prospect like I’ve seen in other publications?

Eric A Longenhagen: That’s rich for me, clearly, or I’d have him in that area.

Old Guy: Josue De Paula‘s numbers look kind of meh. Why are the sites so high on him?

Eric A Longenhagen: above average raw power right now at age 19, Ideal body for long-term power projection and athletic longevity, 70 plate discipline

“Piece out” – is ironically funny since you DID have your “factory” shoulder removed and now replaced!

  25. Mark TimmonsAugust 29, 2025

Could Striker be effective in shorter bursts? I would sign him and see.

    The cost is minimal.

Isiah Kiner-Falefa released by the Pirates. I don’t think they sign Walker. Bullpen is going to be crowded. Kopech and Vesia due back sometime in September. Tonites lineup. Ohtani DH, Betts SS, Freeman 1B, Smith C, Teo RF, Conforto LF, Pages CF, Freeland 2B, Kike 3B. Snell P.

  28. dodgerdadAugust 29, 2025

as far as walker is concerned, love him but where does he fit in? Probably not going to start. Could he help coming out of the bullpen? who would they send out to make room for him? 5. something era? i’m just not sure if AF will go there.

  29. dodgerdadAugust 29, 2025

doesn’t surprise me they scored as many runs as they have. what bothers me is that they score 8 runs in one game and have the ability to score 2 or less any given game. when they are clicking, they are a juggernaut. sometimes they have a morgue like appearance on the field. right now with wheeler out the dodgers have as good of a starting rotation as anyone. the bullpen is getting healthy and better. A little more discipline from a couple of guys could help them win it all again!

  30. Brian PerkinsAugust 29, 2025

This is better than reading AI.

And I agree people freak out too much.

Whatever happens will be decided in October.

  31. Evan BAugust 29, 2025

Red Sox released Walker Buehler today. His hopes of signing for big money as a free agent this off-season have tumbled dramatically.

Where will he land? Do the Dodgers take a flyer on him? I’d be ok with his return, though I must admit that the roster space issues may make that next to impossible.

  32. Daytona JackAugust 29, 2025

I see marked improvement in the last week and with the injured returning, this team should shine.

Hip replacement was 12 days ago and the doc said days 5-9 would really suck. He was right, pain was miserable. It has now leveled off to stiffness. Sutures get removed on the 4th of September. Hope your recovery goes well .
