(I spelled it wrong deliberately). Well, the Dodgers were serious about signing Juan Soto… untill the bidding got over $600 Million. That was when they punted. I agree… I don’t think he is worth a penny over $599 Million! The Dodgers then signed Michael Comforto to a one-year deal, presumeably to platoon with Andy Pages in RF. I think that was an excellent move. The Dodgers do not want Teoscar in RF and Comforto and Pages are both more accomplished outfielders. Comforto was in San Francisco which is a horrible park to hit in and, just like Teo (last year) who had and off season in Seattle in 2023, only to come back with a vengence in 2024, I think Michael Comforto has a very good season left in him.
Moving from SF to LA and having RVS as a hitting coach could re-ignite Conforto’s career. At one time, he was headed for Superstardon. From 2017 to 2019, he hit 27, 28 and 33 HR. He could be the steal of the offseason.
A platoon of Pages and Comforto could yield 35-40 HR and 100+ RBI from the 7th or 8th spot in the batting order, as well as delivering solid defense. The Dodgers still have the opportunity to sign Teoscar, but they don’t want to go beyond 2 or 3 years and I think the Yankees or Red Sox will. the Dodgers could see what develops among current players in LF, such as Dalton Rushing or Chris Taylor. Kike could be in the mix as could James Outman. If I don’t list him there will be hell to pay.
Rushing may or may not make the team, but he would benefit from playing a year with Smith and Barnes and maybe catching 20-30 games.
I think the steal of the offseason has been Blake Snell. Snell is Ace Caliber. Compare that to Max Fried whom the Yankees gave 8 years/$218 Million and he’s a #3 or #4 for the Yankees. Good luck with that.
After the Rule 5 Draft, I scanned the names and didn’t see any Dodgers taken. It turns out that I missed Garrett McDaniel. Garrett “Freaking” McDaniel? McDaniel? He’s a soft-tossing Lefty who isn’t even the equal of Justin Bruihl. I mean, the Angels could have taken Ryan Ward, Jerming Rosario, Carlos Duran, Damon Keith, Jack Little, Austin Gauthier, Ben Harris or Ryan Sublette, but NO…. the Dumbass Angels took McDaniels. Thank You! That is why the Angels are … the Angels. There is no dumbass Vaccine. The Angels are a joke!
The Dodgers don’t have to do anything else… except maybe sign Kike Hernandez. Maybe Walker Buehler might not get a great deal and re-sign with the Dodgers, but Jack Flaherty is already gone… believe ‘dat!
Roki Sasaki is not a slam dunk but the Dodgers are going all out to get him. We shall see… I have no prediction…
Lastly, I hope the Nolan Arenado rumors are wrong. He is done… He would have been a great Dodger… ten years ago! That ship has sailed! Stick a fork in him!

no i don’t! but it ain’t more than 80 million. i would bet money on that. i also know that if pages struggles, edman hits .250 and left field is a black hole, the dodgers will find the going much rougher than they had it this season. All 3 things i stated could happen. maybe 2 of them , but maybe only one! i’m a dodger fan for over 60 years! I pull for whomever they put on the roster . i don’t like the outfield with conforto in left, and pages in right. i said earlier, max ain’t getting any younger or any better. Will could continue to struggle. the bench is below average offensively. the giants get Burnes to go along with Logan Webb? they become relevant again. if the padres bring profar back , their outfield is better than the dodgers . the diamond backs have pitching and speed. Sure AF will make deadline moves, but why wait? Teo costs only money. no trade necessary. no qualifying pick goes with him. So there, just my opinion.
I think if the Dodgers really wanted Teo back,he would have been signed by now. I believe Teo is no longer in their plans. I’m sure that AF has a Plan B.
I did not see that interview but it seems logical and appropriate to me that Conforto will be the LF and Pagés in RF will be given a long look.
Between Max and Mookie, 5 months were lost in 2024, now with normal and typical seasons they will compensate for Teo’s departure. Dodgers organization update.
Even though I haven’t been nearly the CA league freak I was in the previous decade (my son is in HS now and has less time to go to games), I have been hearing grumblings for a while about changes to come. MLB’s takeover of MiLB changed things.
The Dodgers low A (previously high A) affiliate has been in Rancho Cucamonga for 15 years or so. The Dodgers announced a while back that they signed a deal with Ontario to move the team one city over to a brand new facility. The owners of the Quakes were a group headed by HOFer George Brett. Diamond Baseball announced the purchase of 3 CA league teams today. Nuts, 66ers and Quakes. They seem to be intent on buying up all of MiLB. They own over 40 teams now. Modesto (Seattle) is losing the Nuts to San Bernardino. Modesto will no longer have a team. Angels are moving to Rancho. None of that matters to the Dodgers.
But the Dodgers get a brand new facility. And I’m sure the Dodgers have been heavily involved in the design of that facility. While all the other teams in the CA league are simply just shifting around. The Dodgers get a new, state of the art facility and remain only an hour down the 10 freeway from LA. All the other teams move to existing (and aging) ballparks with dirt cheap (often $1 per year) leases in place with the cities.
My only point of even discussing this is the fact that it exemplifies the Dodgers organization. Arte Moreno and many other owners will spend big on big name players. But will neglect and stifle player development out of unwillingness to invest. Because obscure spending on player development don’t sell tickets (at least in the near term). Dodgers are once again proving that they are committed to maintaining the best organization in baseball. All the way down to their low A affiliate. As of 2026, the Dodgers will have the only facility in the CA league that is less than 20 years old. Most are 25-35 years old.
This won’t even make general baseball news. But the Dodgers are investing up and down the organization. They are in it long term.
Why rack your brains so much with “so many options and assumptions” when it would be so easy to leave Betts in the RF and use Rojas, Edman, Taylor and even Freeland in SS? If they don’t sign Teo, which I think won’t happen or would have already happened.
