I’ve read countless blogs and articles where writers dissect the Dodgers and Yankees position-by-position, as if Freddie Freeman might square off against Anthony Rizzo on the mound. What a laugh! The Dodgers entered the season as the premier team with an unmatched depth that’s been sorely tested, yet they stand tall as the best in the NL, poised for a World Series showdown.

I’m rooting for them, fingers crossed, but let’s not kid ourselves: anything can happen in this game. A single moment can shift the tide, and often, it’s not the best team that takes home the glory, but the hottest or luckiest one. Baseball is the most maddeningly beautiful game—where a few lucky swings can score four runs, while three blistering line drives end in nothing but air.

If you’re still clinging to the idea that the best team always wins, well… let’s just say you might be missing the point! I believe the Dodgers will triumph. I want them to. But that’s why we watch—because anything can unfold on that diamond. This year, they’ve faced mountains of adversity, now down to three starters plus Landon Knack. It hurts to have Evan Phillips sidelined, but Brusdar Graterol and Alex Vesia are (allegedly) ready to roll, and the possibilities are endless. Who knows, maybe Joe Kelly will play a surprise role in this drama.

One can overtalk, overthink, and overanalyze this game, but in mere hours, the moment arrives. So let’s do this: PLAY BALL!

P.S. Tommy Baseball hit cleanup and was the NLCS MVP and now he hits 9th. I love it!

I was feeling kind of silly until Freddie made me a genius. Three more wins, three more wins, three more wins………………HISTORIC

Flaherty looks good so far. Velocity is good and misses are out of the zone.

I expect Brett Honeywell to at least look toward heaven before uncorking a screwball, which he learned from his father, who was taught the pitch by his cousin — Mike Marshall.

Honeywell was a fan of Fernando, even before he became a Dodgers, and they had “talked shop” about the screwball.

    One last time, Brett!

Dodgers in 7 We didn’t have Muncy or Edman and they didn’t have Soto available when we took 2 out 3 from them in NY in June.We have to beat Cole at least one of his starts to win it all.

Nothing Wrong With Back of the Rotation SP for LAD

I said it when Roki Sasaki was struggling…If not Roki, who? He finally started to pitch with more confidence and he put together a string of positive starts. Yes, there were those who forgot about his previous four excellent starts and instead focused on his CWS start. He is a…

Who Bats Where?

A good percentage of comments on this blog relate to “who bats where” in the batting order. “Shohei should bat cleanup.” “ Freddie should be the number three hitter.” “No, Freddie should hit second.” “Max Muncy should hit cleanup.” “Mookie should hit 9th.” … and on and on… Where…

Happy, Hopeful, Blessed, and Thankful

I grew up in Ohio and lived there until 1976, when I was 23 years old. I have been in Indiana for 50 years, so I consider myself a Hoosier. Now, I actually live 45 minutes from Bloomington, where the IU Hoosiers play. However, since I was nine years old, I have been a Dodger…

Are You True Blue?

What do I mean by true blue? Well, over the years I have seen my share of bandwagon and fair-weather fans. True blue fans stick with the team no matter what. Their allegiance to the team never waivers. Not when a favorite is traded or lost to free agency, not when the team…
