Andy Pages can play a fairly credible centerfield. Unfortunately, Teoscar Hernandez and Michael Conforto can’t play their respective positions a lick. As soon as Tommy Edman is back, he needs to go to CF. Teoscar needs to go to LF (with Call as his caddy), Pages goes to RF, and CONFORTO GOES TO SIBERIA! It’s after September 1st. CUT CONFORTO! There were five or six balls hit to the outfield, which should have been caught… and weren’t. You can’t win like that.

It might be next week before Edman is back, but this needs to happen. Max should be back sometime next week. That should be big. The pitching will sort itself out. It’s hard for me to type. This is definitely easier than a hip replacement. I HAVE BEEN OFF PAIN MEDS FOR 3 DAYS!

  • Voice recognition software sucks.
  • 3 more weeks in this damn sling.

it’s not over! the dodgers will win the west! but tonight was awful! hopefully Max can put some life into the team! maybe teo and Andy should switch places in the lineup. although pages refuses to take ball 4. hope Will is ok! … i want the best for Alex Freeland. But it’s obvious he’s not ready for mlb pitching. 80 % kim is still way better than him. …. Emmit made 2 bad pitches tonight, but otherwise pitched very good. … who knows, they may put a 5 spot on Skeenes tomorrow!

  2. Mark TimmonsSeptember 4, 2025

    The world is not ending.

  3. Jorge ValenzuelaSeptember 4, 2025

Can I say the game is over now or is it still too early?

  4. dodgerdadSeptember 4, 2025

oh yes he did! pathetic performance by the boys in blue! and no it wasn’t the great pitching of the pirates!

  5. Jorge ValenzuelaSeptember 4, 2025

Damn Comforto, it’s because of him they’re losing again… No, wait…. He’s not playing!

  6. dodgerdadSeptember 4, 2025

me thinks the dodgers and pirates switched bodies! is there anyone on this dodger team other than ohtani who can hit a line drive? the orioles have done their job. Put Rojas in there for freeland or kike!!!!!

  7. HawkeyedodgerSeptember 3, 2025

Why play Kim when you can build a lineup up with guys under the Mendoza line. Geez!

  8. DavidSeptember 3, 2025

SD lose again. I guess everyone struggling

  9. DavidSeptember 3, 2025

Best thing about this game so far—-I am not watching on TV

  10. DavidSeptember 3, 2025

    Call starting against the righty

  11. Jorge ValenzuelaSeptember 3, 2025

0-1….. Well, the way they’re playing and hitting, it’s very likely that this game is o….. Again!

  12. Andrew Vincent ForteSeptember 3, 2025

Shohei Ohtani was “under the weather” yesterday, Dave Roberts said. Obviously can still hit but didn’t feel great throwing his side session because of the illness. Ohtani will pitch “sometime this weekend.”

  13. Andrew Vincent ForteSeptember 3, 2025

Pads losing today 7-0 in the bottom of the 3rd to the O’s .Chance to pick up a full game with a win tonight.

  14. dodgerrickSeptember 3, 2025

Enrique (Kike, not Kiki) Hernandez is hitting .200 and doesn’t hit RH pitchers particularly well. (this year he is OPSing .563 against RHP; career OPS 130 points lower against RHP). He should not start in CF in any scenario.

Freeland has struck out 34 times in 94 PA (36% K rate) with a SLG% of only .321. Should not be starting.

If Edman plays in CF when he returns then that should mean Pages in RF and Teo in LF. Kim and Rojas at 2B.

Tell me who you feel confident in coming in from the bullpen to protect a 1 run lead right now. I can’t think of anyone.

  15. MichigandodgerguySeptember 3, 2025

I’d see what Alex Call has in him the last couple weeks of this season. I don’t understand why Conforto keeps getting at bats ? Even against some left handers. I wanted him to be good and supported the signing like others have mentioned. I know our recent shortcomings aren’t ALL his fault. But 29 rbi’s in 360 at bats… come on, Will has twice as many ribbies in less at bats. Talk about an inadequate major league hitter.

  16. bradleySeptember 3, 2025

Why not put Kiki in centerfield with Kim back and put Conforto on the bench. so the infield would be Betts Kim Freeland then when edmans comes back and muncy then you start moving players around but right now. just put Kike in centerfield and Teo in leftfield and Pages in right field. Miggy Kim, Freeland, and Betts are the infielders for now.

Pages is passable in CF but that’s it at this point in his career. For every great catch or throw, there’s a fielding gaffe or throw to the wrong base. He’s also the worst base runner I’ve seen since Pedro Guerrero. Fortunately, he can still improve at those things if he has something between the ears.

I can’t believe how bad Teo has been this year defensively. Conforto has zero range and is a joke at the plate. They can’t afford to wait on Tommy. Get Kim in the lineup.

  19. BlutoSeptember 3, 2025

From what I’ve read, Edman is only playing CF when he returns. This would seem to imply Conforto goes to the bench and Pages and Hernandez play in the corners.

I’m going to presume that Yates won’t see much usage in the playoffs.

  20. MichigandodgerguySeptember 3, 2025

Is it just me, or does Conforto seem bored and uninterested ? When he bats, no emotion when he strikes out. He takes a seat and stares off. He never runs full speed in the outfield to make a play. There’s no hustle and I doubt if he cares if we win or lose. For God’s sake move on from this loser…

  21. dodgerrickSeptember 3, 2025

Simple question – are the Dodgers playing like a championship team?

  22. MattSeptember 3, 2025

yeah lets plug the plug on Conforto.

SD loses at home again. Still 2.5

    WIN TODAY!!!!

  23. Brian PerkinsSeptember 3, 2025

Extremely bullish, although I don’t think Kim is the answer.

  24. dodgerdadSeptember 3, 2025

on a night when clayton had some first inning trouble , the bullpen was not there for support! Granted Kershaw should have been out of the inning with no more than 1 run. Teo is responsible for 3 of those runs. Dodgers score 7 and lose? Kirby Yates can get first 2 outs and then hits a wall almost every time! No doubt about it, the bullpen was awful! …. I keep watching and waiting for Conforto to come up with a big hit with runners in scoring position. I’m still waiting! i simply don’t get it. …. Alex F. will be a good mlb player someday. He’s not quite ready for big league pitching yet. …. 2026 right fielder? Andy Pages. left fielder? Teo if he’s not traded. …..Dodgers need a win tonight. Don’t want to be 0-2 with Skeenes on the mound tomorrow!

  25. DavidSeptember 3, 2025

I think I have discovered a way out of the injury bug that Conforto has solved. Lets face it he is one of the few guys not playing with injuries. So if you never have to run the bases because you don’t get any hits and you stand still in the outfield and never reach any hit balls– You probably can avoid most injuries.

  26. Andrew Vincent ForteSeptember 3, 2025

I may be wrong or I may be right, but in my humble opinion this is NOT the Dodger’s year to win a World Series .Too many things have to go right and we’re depending a weak bullpen to do its job even at full strength, a critical factor to have success in the playoffs. The outfield defense is weak at the corners and I would not count on Kershaw or Glasnow in big games in the playoffs against the better teams we’ll face. I can’t put my finger on it but something is seriously missing this year from last year. Part of it is injuries, part of of it is an aging team, the hunger factor to win, a terrible road team and teams really get fired up to play us because of jealously and the huge payroll we enjoy. I’m not rooting for this to happen, but that’s the way I see it. I truly hope I’m wrong.

  27. Daytona JackSeptember 3, 2025

Totally agree, Mark. Kim could fill in in the outfield a bit but being a GG. SS and 2B IN KOREA, plus his speed make him a better fit in the dirt.

How valuable has Pages’ been? Power, OBP, brazen attitude,

    Getting staples out today.

A good percentage of comments on this blog relate to “who bats where” in the batting order. “Shohei should bat cleanup.” “ Freddie should be the number three hitter.” “No, Freddie should hit second.” “Max Muncy should hit cleanup.” “Mookie should hit 9th.” … and on and on… Where…
