I thought the stars were all aligned. I was listening to the game Mondy night on the airplane and as we landed, the Dodgers took the lead after being behind all game. Of course, it was short-lived as the Dodgers coughed it back up as Kimbrel blew the game with plenty of help from Freddie Freeman. Oh well, “Even Blind Squirrels find nuts.” I thought… By the way, this is the view from my hotel room:

So, my son and I headed to the Ravine for a Private Tour of the Bowels of Dodger Stadium. My son has never liked baseball, although he does enjoy going to a game. He always was a football fan, but he has waned on football lately. We took the hour and a half tour and he heard all of the history and memorabilia the Dodgers had and he was very impressed… even amazed! The upshot of the game was that on the way back, he said, “Dad, this is an incredible organization – I really liked the game – I think I am going to become a Dodger fan and follow them!” Welcome the newest Real Dodger Fan: Stephen Timmons!

Of course, it did not end well. We sat in the new Home Run Area of Right Field. The seats were $260, but that included all the bottled water and food you wanted. Alcohol was extra. I have always sat on the 3B side so, I missed the infield action, but it was a whole new perspective. I would not want to sit there every time, but I enjoyed the game immensely… except for the final score.

So, there is nothing to report, other than the Pirates swept the Little Sisters of the Poor! Oh well… never speak of this again.
Saturday Night, we will be in Rancho Cucamonga to see the Quakes. I was hoping to see Diego Cartaya, but as I reported to you last week, he was getting called up to GL and he was. It turns out my “inside information” was correct (a friend of a friend). Oh, well, Great Lakes plays six games in Ft. Wayne in three weeks, so I will go there and see a few games (Ft. Wayne is 90 minutes from Indy). By the way, Diego hit a bomb last night:
This is actually a business trip, so I have no time to discuss anything else. Have a great day!

Zach McKinstry is in the Dodgers clubhouse. Kevin Pillar said he went in for scans today but wasn’t able to say yet what the results were.

Dodgers Add LHP Caleb Ferguson Back to the Bullpen Mix
In order to make room in the roster, the Dodgers sent Michael Grove back down. He gave up 3 runs against the Pirates last night in his only inning of work.
Glad you guys had a good time. Too bad it was this series.
It shouldn’t be a mystery why my son and I go to so many minor league games. Sure, the baseball is pretty bad. But I can get a 20 games packages to both the Quakes and 66ers (Angels low A) for the price of one set of good seats (and the $40 parking) at Dodger Stadium. Not to mention the $18 beers. Last Angels game we went to (I was given amazing seats with VIP parking) we parked next to a Bentley convertible. I pointed out to my son “now there is a fan that can actually afford to get drunk tonight”.
I guess those old outfield seats that used to be the cheap ones if you got there early for batting practice when it was GA are allowing us to keep signing the Freddies and Mookies when you’re charging $260 a pop. So, I guess a thank you to Mark is in order for helping us afford that payroll.
I guess you can get it when you’re average over 47.5K tickets per night like the Dodgers are. Next best is the Cards at 38.4K. Wow! The Yankees average 36.2K and the lowly A’s average just 7.5K. We sell more tickets than the Yankees and A’s combined! Keep it up and maybe we’ll go get Soto after all and platoon him with Joc in LF.
P.S. Mayo on a hotdog makes me sad. Catsup too? My gosh!!!
Onions, Mustard, Relish and Jalapeno’s on the side.
Well, that sucked. Not the post, the series against the Pirates. They played their hearts out, so I tip my cap to them. Especially after beating them mercilessly for years, they deserved to sweep this series, as disappointing as it was.
The difference in the series was two things. Their pitchers painted the edges of the plate, and ours didn’t. The other was all the errors and misplays especially on the bases. The bats will run hot and cold at times like all teams. But, the sloppiness of play should be minimized. As should that lineup they put out there yesterday. I can’t stand pulling all the left handers when we face a lefty pitcher.
I feel so bad for Pillar. He was so happy being here, then he dislocated his shoulder right after drilling that double it seems. What horrible luck. Not as bad as Danny Duffy I guess.
That Trea Turner fly ball that went on to Double up Gavin Lux at home was this series in a single play. A couple more feet and he’s safe. Instead, he’s out and was blocked from the plate by the catcher. What happened to providing a lane? I hate that rule as much as the Chase Utley rule at second. I miss the contact in baseball. I digress.
It seems like there was an inordinate number of close plays that went the other way in this series.
I’m really looking forward to the Rancho game on Saturday even if it is without Diego. I haven’t purchased tickets, I think I’ll just buy them at the box office when I get there.
$260 comes with a free Dodger Dog?
The new computer works well and I was lucky I lost nothing from the old one. All of my stuff showed up when I signed in to my microsoft account. Getting some new posts lined up on this one. Trying to do stories that appeal to all. Will be at the Quakes game on Saturday. Right now I am 2-0 for home teams so far.
June 1: OF Kevin Pillar exits with left shoulder injury
Pillar left Wednesday’s game in the sixth inning after his left shoulder “came out and then came back in” on a swing and later on a slide, according to manager Dave Roberts. The outfielder previously dislocated that shoulder making a diving catch in 2018. He’s currently day to day, though he will be unavailable on Thursday as he undergoes scans on the shoulder, and an injured list stint is a possibility. — Sarah Wexler

The Dodgers will not have Yefry Ramirez as a depth option for the 2022 season. The right-handed pitcher had been with Oklahoma City to start the 2022 season. He appeared in 40.2 innings for the OKC team and pitched to a 3.76 ERA with them.
But Ramirez is taking his talents elsewhere. The Dodgers minor leaguer is heading to the Hanwha Eagles of the Korea Baseball Organization. He is expected to be paid $600,000 for the rest of the Eagles season.
Ive sat in those HR seats in LF. Great seats, pricey but well worth it to me.
Forget this series and move on…..
Looks like yall had a nice time, hard not too, except for the score.
But at Dodgers stadium you cant be drinking a Coors Light; get a Golden Road or a Kershaws Wicked Curve, yes that is a beer!!
Beat the Mets!!
Great pictures Mark. Looks like a lot of fun.
2 things
* I want that dodger Dog
* Welcome the new recruit, Stephen, to the Dodger faithful.
I’m pondering a post about our recent play. Maybe. Maybe not. One things for sure, Alex Karros is a jinx.
