Happy Thanksgiving, Dodger Dogs!

Thanksgiving is the one time of the year when Dodger and Giants fans don t have to get along like cats and junkyard dogs. OK, I got carried away . maybe we do! Back to reality and the reality is . We have a lot to be thankful for namely, the Dodgers do not suck!

It will be interesting what the back story is on this:

He did not played after July 29th. There is a story here, if someone cares to tell…

I also heard Ravin wasn’t too popular in the clubhouse.

Thanks everyone. This has been the most enjoyable year for me in LA Dodger Talk history. It’s the first time which every post I do is not disagreed with just because someone likes to disagree. Mind you, I don’t mind disagreement. I have opinions and I am not always right. I am fine with disagreeing. What I am not fine with is having someone disagree with me no matter what which is what happened.

Feel free to tell me if you think I am wrong and yes, I do write stuff to make you think and drive discussion. I am frequently wrong, but I am not wrong every single time like some have said. I think the difference is “respect.” We all respect each other and sometimes we agree and sometimes we disagree. Keep it coming.

    Thanks again.

Thanks AC and back at you. I really enjoy this site. Mark makes you think. He throws stuff at you. AC and Mark both have information on our farm kids. AC’s post are generally factual. However, the most important is the respect we have for each other.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Loved me some Reggie Smith.

One of my all-time favorite players.

I am sitting at my favorite Starbucks and trying to draft my next post, trying to reflect on this past year.

    .

I am thankful for the Dodgers providing me with some of the best baseball that I have enjoyed in a looooong time. With both Colletti and FAZ contributions, this Dodger organization is packed with stars and depth that should keep the ML team competitive and relevant for a long time.

    .

I am thankful for Mark allowing me to contribute to this blog. I am not a very social person, and for me to be able to communicate with a Dodger community such as this one has been a blessing for me.

    .

I am thankful to posters like Dodgerrick who may have contrary thoughts to mine, but support it so well that it always keeps me thinking (and arguing with). Rick is analytical and skeptical which is not only a great trait for an attorney, but also for a knowledgeable baseball fan.

    .

I am thankful to Watford, and Watford, I think you know why.

    .

I am thankful for MJ because she reminds me that knowledgeable baseball and Dodger fans are not always men. MJ has strong opinions and a passion to match.

    .

I am thankful for a medium that allows me to communicate with loyal and passionate Dodger fans like Hawkeye, Vegas, Rudy Byrd, Idahoal, and the countless others that I have had the pleasure of reading and responding to. And Rudy, you are officially my favorite Bruin. As baseball1439 stated above, “This site is highly informative, and all posts are treated respectfully.”

    .

But most of all, I am thankful for a family that puts up with me doing my baseball research and supporting me as I go out of my comfort zone to occasionally write on this site.

    .

    HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!

Back at ya, AC. Your posts are always incredibly well thought out and informative…………for a Trojan ;0)

    • Vegas DodgerNovember 23, 2017Reply

Thanks for the mention AC and to all that you included. I enjoy reading the comments and posting my thoughts. I enjoy your insights even if I don’t always agree. I am thankful for the season the team had, the direction they are going, the interesting off season ahead and the chance to win it all next year. And most of all thanks to Mark for providing the best forum I have found to cover Dodger baseball and Happy Thanksgiving to all!

    • Watford DodgerNovember 23, 2017Reply

AC – thanks for the thought, and back at you.

I’ve really enjoyed your contributions on here, and certainly have a far better understanding of our Farm System as a result.

I now have youngsters that I’m rooting for, so please keep it going.

Mark, have enjoyed this reincarnation of LADT, much of the personal stuff, and bickering has gone, which has improved things.

Have always wanted Stanton in Blue, before he became who he is now.

However, now, thanks to that ridiculous contract, I’m not so sure & I just don’t see FAZ doing it, unless Miami are totally out of options, and FAZ are the only suitors.

      Enjoy the day.

      AC

      Right back at you!

Thanks for your knowledge, and your great takes, on the Dodgers, and on baseball, in general, I have learned a lot, from you!

I am also glad that Watford and you, cleared everything up, because you are both great guys, and that is why I knew, it was just a misunderstanding.

And I also want to thank Hawkeye for his knowledge, and his takes, too!

And thank you everyone here, for your takes too!

  6. baseball1439November 23, 2017

I want to thank Mark and all the other posters that frequent ladodgertalk.com. I’ve been posting on this site for about 2 weeks and already wish I stopped posting on the Dodger site 3 years ago. This site is highly informative, and all posts are treated respectfully.

So far this has been very rewarding.

  7. Watford DodgerNovember 23, 2017

    Happy Thanksgiving Guys.

Still trying to get over my Post Season Blues.

    Think I need some counselling….

  8. JoezNovember 23, 2017

I really like this strategy. Miami will initially say forget you Dodgers, but after Stanton nixes the other clubs offers the Dodgers will be in the drivers seat.

    • HawkeyeDodgerNovember 23, 2017Reply

If the Dodgers leaked they made an offer it would empower Stanton.

  9. Mark TimmonsNovember 23, 2017

Interesting take on a Stanton trade:

So thankful for this site to see what my fellow Dodger guys have to say. Kind of funny, I have this guy from my high school days who is a die hard Giant fan, and he has been giving me crap for years. He couldn’t wait to pile on after we lost the World Series in Game 7, but I told him,” You know what, check back in a year, because we will be having the same conversation after we go the the Series again”!! So confident for next year, I can hardly wait. Happy Turkey day guys!!

  11. Rudy ByrdNovember 23, 2017

Happy Turkey Day, fellow long-time Dodger fans/sufferers.

  12. Jim DNovember 23, 2017

I am thankful for LA Dodger talk. Thank you Mark, and all who post. Happy Thanksgiving. Go blue.

Nothing Wrong With Back of the Rotation SP for LAD

Who Bats Where?

A good percentage of comments on this blog relate to “who bats where” in the batting order. “Shohei should bat cleanup.” “ Freddie should be the number three hitter.” “No, Freddie should hit second.” “Max Muncy should hit cleanup.” “Mookie should hit 9th.” … and on and on… Where…

Happy, Hopeful, Blessed, and Thankful

I grew up in Ohio and lived there until 1976, when I was 23 years old. I have been in Indiana for 50 years, so I consider myself a Hoosier. Now, I actually live 45 minutes from Bloomington, where the IU Hoosiers play. However, since I was nine years old, I have been a Dodger…

Are You True Blue?

What do I mean by true blue? Well, over the years I have seen my share of bandwagon and fair-weather fans. True blue fans stick with the team no matter what. Their allegiance to the team never waivers. Not when a favorite is traded or lost to free agency, not when the team…
