Blue Jays aren’t actually blue. Their brilliant blue color of their feathers isn’t from pigment — it’s an optical illusion. Their feathers are structurally designed to scatter light, reflecting only blue wavelengths. If you crush a Blue Jay feather, it turns brown! However, the Dodgers are actually blue… physically and emotionally. The Dodgers arrived with a semi-trailer carrying their press clippings, while the Blue Jays came in a bus full of baseball players… disguised as junkyard dogs!

Betts, Ohtani, Snell, Smith, Freeman, and Muncy are all stars, but Kirk, Varsho, and Barger were shining the brightest last night! Blake Snell told us he had great control last week, then demonstrated he didn’t. Shohei Ohtani hit a home run when the game was no longer in doubt. A rookie who did not have his best stuff throttled the great Dodger offense.

This is a classic case of where the Junkyard Dogs beat the Blue Bloods! You can blame it on the long layoff, but it makes no difference – the Dodgers Blew it! Andy Pages needs to sit! It’s a new day. It’s a new game. Yamamoto needs to pitch the game of his life. Wrobleski and Klien… the rookies looked like studs. Wipe the slate, shut up, and play ball!

Oh, by the way, I would very happy if the Dodgers win 1-0. Scoring lots of runs is very exciting, but what’s important is scoring enough to win. Go Dodgers!!

The Dodgers MUST start scoring runs in the 2025 world series. Or we will witness another American League celebrating a championship at Dodger Stadium while watching the boys n blue in their white uniforms watching in disbelief. I don’t think my stomach could handle another one of those episodes!

  5. MickeyOctober 25, 2025

Of course, in 1981, the exact opposite happened from 1978! The Yankees won the first two games vs Dodgers but lost to the Dodgers. That was had three ws MVPs: ron cey, Steve Yeager & Jerry ruese.

  6. MickeyOctober 25, 2025

The team that wins gm 1 of ws wins 64 percent of the time. Well, I know one team that didn’t in two ws: Los Angeles Dodgers. In 1978 ws, Dodgers won first two games of that series, but lost .In 2017, Dodgers won gm 1 of that series but lost that one, also. Something to think about.

    disappointed in last night.

the jays swung with bad intentions.

    credit to them.

but thankfully its a series for the title…and not just one game.

when pressed all year, the dodgers seem to respond.

i would not be shocked if moto has his mojo and the good guys win gm2…even things up heading back to LA for 3.

    go dodgers.

Sorry UCLA fans but IU is playing for a Championship. I live just 40 minutes from Bloomington!

Got 5 decent innings out of Snell. Wotk counts to inflate pitches from the rookie, did a little hitting

    Actually a pretty good start.

What a surprise, Sheehan with a crappy ERA got buzz sawed AFTER DOC TRIED TO GET AN EXTRA INNING OUT OF SNELL.. A little uphill but I have faith. Leaving 7 guys on base didn’t help.

  11. Old Bear 48October 25, 2025

Snell had not pitched in 10 days. Sheehan even longer than that. The layoff between beating the Brewers and the start of the World Series has definitely affected this team. Anybody who thinks it does not is dead wrong. Not an excuse, just the facts. I would not even have Sheehan on the roster. He has been totally ineffective the entire post-season.

  12. Jorge ValenzuelaOctober 25, 2025

And speaking of Pages, that’s why I would have liked Conforto to be on the roster instead of Dean, to give Pages a break, it’s the World Series, there’s no time to wait to see if he can get out of his slump, this isn’t the regular season where you can wait, here you can’t!

  13. DavidOctober 25, 2025

In his other starts Snells pitches were sharp and he threw strikes. Yesterday he couldn’t do that

  14. Andrew Vincent ForteOctober 25, 2025

It’s tough to navigate the Blue Jays lineup with their ability to foul pitches off, drive up the pitcher’s count, not striking out, making contact and eventually putting the ball in play. This is NOT going to be easy for the heralded Dodger pitching staff. I know it’s only one game ,but that has been the Blue Jays arsenal all season and playoffs long. Need to score more than what the Dodgers have scored in each of the prior games in the the prior series against the Phillis and Brewers if the Dodgers are going to go back to back..

Nothing Wrong With Back of the Rotation SP for LAD

I said it when Roki Sasaki was struggling…If not Roki, who? He finally started to pitch with more confidence and he put together a string of positive starts. Yes, there were those who forgot about his previous four excellent starts and instead focused on his CWS start. He is a…

Who Bats Where?

A good percentage of comments on this blog relate to “who bats where” in the batting order. “Shohei should bat cleanup.” “ Freddie should be the number three hitter.” “No, Freddie should hit second.” “Max Muncy should hit cleanup.” “Mookie should hit 9th.” … and on and on… Where…

Happy, Hopeful, Blessed, and Thankful

I grew up in Ohio and lived there until 1976, when I was 23 years old. I have been in Indiana for 50 years, so I consider myself a Hoosier. Now, I actually live 45 minutes from Bloomington, where the IU Hoosiers play. However, since I was nine years old, I have been a Dodger…

Are You True Blue?

What do I mean by true blue? Well, over the years I have seen my share of bandwagon and fair-weather fans. True blue fans stick with the team no matter what. Their allegiance to the team never waivers. Not when a favorite is traded or lost to free agency, not when the team…
