The Dodgers still aren’t hitting, but the Dodgers’ starters outpitched the Padres’ starters, and the bullpen did just enough to win. The Padres did get some lucky hits… that’s for sure. Additionally, the Dodgers played fundamentally sound baseball and (for the most part) let the Padres beat themselves. Mookie Betts is BACK for the stretch run, and the Dodgers took the season series from the Padres regardless of what happens in Slam Diego!

The Dodgers now play four games in Colorado before playing three more with the Clowns down the freeway! The Padres will finish under .500 next year, and AJ Preller will be looking for another job. Dope-fiend moves at the deadline cause that, and always remember – conventional wisdom is frequently wrong!
By next weekend, the Dodgers bullpen could look vastly different, with Kopech, Yates, Scott, and maybe Miller being available. Brock Stewart will likely be back in early to mid-September.
How sweet it is to strike out Manny Machado to end the game!

Disagree, not disagreeable
i’m just curious. how many hits does Conforto have being used as a pinch hitter? …. Why didn’t Dave take Teo out for defensive purposes? He does most of the time in late innings. …. What purpose does Buddy Kennedy serve for this team? Seems to me they have plenty of sub .200 hitters at their disposal. ….. ohtani and mookie lead off with back to back hits and don’t even move? Where’s Doc the player? Do something different!…….. after that debacle last night, i’m not feeling real confident about the rest of this series! Better win tonight ! This is Colorado!
Our foes by the bay lent a hand today by taking down SD 4-3. Our bullpen desperately needs a boost. Scott, Yates, et co. can’t get here fast enough.
I’m done! Mookie you proved you can play shortstop, but get your ass back in right field and move Tao to left field now. And get Confuckup out of there now. I’m half in the bag but tired of this 6 month audition!

I’d agree having Manny strike out to end the game would be the highlight except it’s a negative one.
The POSITIVE HIGHLIGHT is Mookie finally connecting for a hit and because it is who he is, it would be a home run and a decisive one that put the team ahead for the win. This is a wonderful team.
note to bradley. they are pitching to the whole lineup! they ain’t hitting with any regularity the way they should be! And the pitches t should swing at, they take. the ones they should take , they miss by a mile! absolutely not the “ make em throw strikes “. dodgers we are all used to!
Way to go the boys in blue and there sweep of the Padres. Now I hope they sweep the Rockies because on paper there the better team. But why this team seems to play to the level of the competition I have no answers why. Those top fout hitters for the dodgers need to hit seems like all weekend they walked and then the Padres were like okay Comforto and Teoscar you try to be the heros. And thank god they hit the ball. Now if Miggy and Freeland start hitting then just maybe teams will have to pitch to the top four batters. Even when teams pitch around Ohtani and Betts they still swing at bat pitches and let the good ones go right by them for strikes. Any way glad to give my take about the game. And lets go Dodgers lets keep it going on.
Fortune tellers, crystal ball readers, spies attempting to ascertain what the enemy is planning, gambling online and in casinos, Wall Street investors and supposedly learned futurists are all reflections our species need to know what’s going to meet us around the corner. We absolutely gotta know what’s coming next, an ingrained trait of a long surviving group of primates known as human beings. Remember our angst a scant few days ago when the team was mired in the depths of second place for an astounding one game?! Was the way too long mid season flame out illustrative of a trend that screamed that the end of our dream of a second consecutive World Series Championship was unfolding in front of our jaundiced eyes? I sleppt more soundly last night as I relaxed into the happiness of the three game sweep of that team Dodger fans love to hate. In the long run what does it mean for our boys? Can we look forward to an ecstatically triumphant Dave Roberts flanked by Andrew Friedman, Mark Walter, Stan Kasten and Dodger heroes giving a short speech referencing the ups and downs of a trying season as he accepts the winner’s trophy from the what’s his name bloviating commissioner or will the last image of the 2025 season be a slow camera pan of a downcast bunch of LA Bums also rans? Loving the Spanish adverb “ahorita” which can mean the immediate right now: I’ll see how long I can stay in this positive moment. Hoping the boys run the table in Colorado. GO DODGERS!!!
Best George Carlin line ever: From the planes captain over the speaker…….”Would the gentleman in 3C please return the stewardess to her original upright position”….. I know, he couldn’t get away with that today.
On Dodger notes, AF strategy of treating the regular season as an extended spring training is coming together perfectly. Starting pitchers are all getting healthy and are well rested just on schedule. The kids got plenty of playing time to see what they could do, and Bobby Miller is ripening into a potential weapon for the playoffs. The man is brilliant.
I have a question: When Muncy, Kike, Kim, and Edman return to the team, who will be demoted? The obvious ones are Kennedy, Dean, and Freeland.
Rushing no, maybe Call? I don’t think so either, I think Kim won’t be returning this year.

who do the dodgers trust most, Casparius or Trienan? i believe Ben has been fantastic coming in and putting out fires. Blake was very fortunate yesterday that Tatis swung at a non competitive pitch. i’m in firm belief Ben is better suited for the eighth and ninth inning right now than Blake. that could change as Trienan gets more of his footing back. Diaz? no thanks. Vesia? great bounce back outing!! …. Didn’t watching mookie trot around the bases after that bomb make you feel like a little kid? i sure did! if only the lineup could finally gel together instead of one or two guys. Dodgers took advantage of of bad first innings by Darvish and Cease and held on for big wins. Now on to Coors! 4 would be a great trip ! 3 out of four ? still good . A split or worse? unacceptable! Friars have the giants. not expecting much help from the g’s. Let’s go Blue!
We swept SD when it mattered most.
Dont ever underestimate the heart of a champion!!!
Now we go!
I expect Miller will be added when rosters expand.
The current bullpen consists of Trienen, Vesia, Banda, Diaz, Casparious, Dryer, Wrobleski and Henriquez. With Scott, Yates and Kopech coming back Diaz and Wrobleski are probably sent down. Would Henriquez be the odd man out? He’s pitched to good since he’s been back. Can the Dodgers gave 2 extra pitchers in September? If not maybe Miller doesn’t come back up.
