Alex Freeland was born with a clubfoot, a deformity in which one or both feet are twisted out of position. He indeed entered the world with his right foot askew, and he spent his first year of life undergoing several procedures to correct it. I think that he has figured it out!

As an infant, he was put in tiny casts that he kept kicking off. At four months, he underwent surgery to lengthen his tendons. Three months after that came what his father calls a full foot reconstruction. Freeland learned to walk with a cast up to his hip, a developmental hurdle that has left him with a slightly stilted gait. His club foot a distant memory, Alex is now starting his career as an MLB player.

Paul Gervase: 6’10” Reliever

The Dodgers recently completed a trade in which Paul Gervase was a part with Tampa Bay. I am very intrigued by Paul Gervase. He is a “freak”… of sorts… being 6′ 10” tall. I could talk about this ad nauseam, but Adam Berry of MLB.com has done a much better job than I can. Check it out HERE.

BTW, look for Bobby Miller in the Dodger Bullpen… soon!

Let’s give some credit where it’s due. Rasmussen is nasty. His quantitative numbers have been limited because the Rays are monitoring his workload, but he’s been sneaky good this season.

The offense rightr now reminds me of the dismissal offense during the 2022 and 2023 playoffs which was non existent. Mookie , Ohtoni and Teo better start showing up and producing or it willo be “one and done” this October.

According to MLB Central, the 2 jacks by Diaz are only HRs in only 3 other MLB stadiums.

Zach Penrod was designated for assignment by the Los Angeles Dodgers in order to make room on their 40-man roster for Blake Snell’s return.

Cool story about Gervase. Thanks for sharing.

Great start to the long stretch run with the Kershaw-Wrobo shutout. And soon we’ll see what Snell has to offer.

Watching the highlights from around the majors, this feels almost like another Opening Day with all the personnel that has shifted from team to team. The new Yankees, including Bednar, had rough outings. A lot of exciting games.

Freeland is looking good. With Max, Kike and Kim on the mend, he’ll likely be sent back down at some point. We’ll see.

The Los Angeles Dodgers reinstated Blake Snell from the 60-day injured list and optioned Paul Gervase to Triple-A Oklahoma City prior to Saturday’s game against the Tampa Bay Rays. The team has not yet announced a corresponding 40-man roster move.

The Minnesota Twins sent James Outman to the minors.

He is on the St. Paul Roster, but did not play last night.

Mendoza reminds me of a Laughing Hyena:

Well, to add my two cents, I like Stephen Nelson, but I agree about Jessica Mendoza. Every comment by her includes a laugh, sometimes loud and sometimes low, but always. Combine Nelson with Hershiser and I am good.

great job by the old man last night! who knows, if mookie doesn’t make that awful throw, Clayton might have gone 7! oh well, Justin W. was money! i agree, don’t send him down! I like the Kershaw/Wrobleski combo! Might we see the Snell/Casparius combo today? …. Because of the stupid blackout rule where i live pertaining to the nationals, i haven’t seen a lot of A. Call. but he sure “looks “ like the type of gritty , grinding type of player the doctor prescribed for the dodgers! And maybe all of us will be happy we didn’t throw conforto out with the bath water! … Just need mookie and teo to get it going! …. Mark i’m all on the Freeland bandwagon! my question. if he continues to hit, what do the dodgers do with him when Max comes back? A switch hitter who can play ss or 3rd. Has pop, and can steal bases. Will there be room at the inn? …. Last night was the first time i ever recall seeing Glasnow smile! …. Someone please tell me this weekend is the last time this season we have to listen to steven nelson and Jess M. it’s like having 2 teenagers in the booth ready for some action!! … Go get em Blake Snell!

New Dodgers on Top 30 prospects list: Surwinski #14, Tibbs #7 and Erdhard #27 from the trade deadline trades.

  14. Daytona JackAugust 2, 2025

T is anks for the Grevis feel good story. Another fine addition from the trade deadline! I think we actually got a stronger prospect haul yesterday than we did in the draft. #4, #5, #12,#27 and Grevis who was promoted to the 26 man roster. Probably all will be in Top 30.Dodger Prospects. Definitely a B+ grade on the trade deadline. Good point in close comparison between Cal and Kwan.. and wadudnt lose any prospects

The two new OFs should help Tulsa improve their record. Glad you’re back.

  15. Andrew Vincent ForteAugust 2, 2025

Best Dodger move would be to keep Yates on the IL and off the playoff roster. Much better options when Graterol and Kopech come off the IL. Who gets DFA’d today off the 40 man roster or plced on the 60 Day IL when Blake Snell comes off the 60 Day IL? I hope they don’t uption Wroboleski to make room on the active roster.

Nothing Wrong With Back of the Rotation SP for LAD

I said it when Roki Sasaki was struggling…If not Roki, who? He finally started to pitch with more confidence and he put together a string of positive starts. Yes, there were those who forgot about his previous four excellent starts and instead focused on his CWS start. He is a…

Who Bats Where?

A good percentage of comments on this blog relate to “who bats where” in the batting order. “Shohei should bat cleanup.” “ Freddie should be the number three hitter.” “No, Freddie should hit second.” “Max Muncy should hit cleanup.” “Mookie should hit 9th.” … and on and on… Where…

Happy, Hopeful, Blessed, and Thankful

I grew up in Ohio and lived there until 1976, when I was 23 years old. I have been in Indiana for 50 years, so I consider myself a Hoosier. Now, I actually live 45 minutes from Bloomington, where the IU Hoosiers play. However, since I was nine years old, I have been a Dodger…

Are You True Blue?

What do I mean by true blue? Well, over the years I have seen my share of bandwagon and fair-weather fans. True blue fans stick with the team no matter what. Their allegiance to the team never waivers. Not when a favorite is traded or lost to free agency, not when the team…
