Contrary to popular belief, I am still here. However, I have a lot going on at 72 years old:

  1. I am finishing my book, and it is taking a lot of time (May 2026 is the tentative release), and I am working with a group who have helped 272 other authors reach the Top 10;
  2. My daughter is getting married on August 23rd, with my youngest son performing the ceremony, and my wife (not my daughter’s mother) is the Wedding Planner. All three of my kids will be at the wedding, and they all have different mothers. My daughter’s mother will not be attending. That’s all I have to say about it.Of course, my middle son’s mother is no longer with us.
  3. I have to get my shoulder totally replaced on August 27th.
  4. My wife is having me supervise the construction of a new restaurant (Lola’s Table), which will open on December 1 (Asian Fusion).
  5. I remain the Chairman of US Water Systems and devote approximately 20 hours a week to the company.
  6. I am very involved with all seven grandkids’ lives.
  7. I mow our 3.5-acre property every 5-6 days (all the green stuff).

… and I watch every Dodger game. I just don’t have a lot of time to post. I am not shutting the blog down, but I am considering a few options…. stay tuned.

Last night’s game was great. I loved it when Clayton blew Scherzer a kiss and waved bye-bye to him when Max was removed from the game. Translation: “Max, you are my bitch!”

Mookie is becoming… Mookie!

This team is bound for glory.

Nothing Wrong With Back of the Rotation SP for LAD

I said it when Roki Sasaki was struggling…If not Roki, who? He finally started to pitch with more confidence and he put together a string of positive starts. Yes, there were those who forgot about his previous four excellent starts and instead focused on his CWS start. He is a…

Who Bats Where?

A good percentage of comments on this blog relate to “who bats where” in the batting order. “Shohei should bat cleanup.” “ Freddie should be the number three hitter.” “No, Freddie should hit second.” “Max Muncy should hit cleanup.” “Mookie should hit 9th.” … and on and on… Where…

Happy, Hopeful, Blessed, and Thankful

I grew up in Ohio and lived there until 1976, when I was 23 years old. I have been in Indiana for 50 years, so I consider myself a Hoosier. Now, I actually live 45 minutes from Bloomington, where the IU Hoosiers play. However, since I was nine years old, I have been a Dodger…

Are You True Blue?

What do I mean by true blue? Well, over the years I have seen my share of bandwagon and fair-weather fans. True blue fans stick with the team no matter what. Their allegiance to the team never waivers. Not when a favorite is traded or lost to free agency, not when the team…
