We arrived at Dodger Stadium at 4:30 for the 7:10 game. Jon Weisman, who is the Dodgers VP of Communications and someone I have known for twenty-plus years, left me a Media Credential which is a “Get out of Jail Free Card” – it takes you anywhere in the stadium. My wife, son, and son-in-law accompanied me, but they did not have the Media Credential. So, they dropped me off and I strolled into the stadium, which at 4:30 is pretty deserted. I passed Joe Davis and Nomar on the escalator and bumped into Jon Weisman at the bottom. He told me that Andrew would like to do the interview in the Dodgers Dugout at 5:20 and that I had five minutes – for the record, I took 10! 😉 Afterward, we went to the Stadium Club and prowled the Dodger Memories area outside the Pressbox.
Of course, I have been in the Pressbox many times, but my son was too young at the time to accompany me. I asked Security if I could take him in (my Credentials get me in), and they gave him a temporary credential. I then gave him a tour of the Pressbox.
Of course, the Dodgers won and are now 7-0. It was a great game, and my wife bought out the Dodger Store with Dodger Gear for all the Grandkids and even a Dodger Jacket for my Red Sox-loving meathead Son-in-Law, who was visibly impressed by Dodger Stadium.
It may be next week until we get the interview edited, as we are leaving for the cruise tomorrow. I think it was epic. I asked some hard questions and he gave some unexpected answers. I first met Jon Weisman about 20 years ago when he and I both had Dodger Blogs. I went on to do other things, and he went to Showtime and Vanity Fair, but he is now back with the Dodgers. I am glad he is. It was a first-class experience. After it was over, Jon came over and met the family. Overall, this was an amazing night.

Zyhir Hope destroyed a HR yesterday! 427 feet, 111 mph off the bat in inclement weather. Beyond that, he had 2 other singles that BOTH registered over 100MPH, and is hitting .571, OPS 1.571!
Good showing for late riser Brandon Neeck had an “up-down” last night for AA Tulsa. 1.1 scoreless, no hits, no runs, 2 Ks, no walks. Uncommon throwing style that starts far left and creates good approach angles. Slider and change continue to develop, from July 13th of last season on: ERA of just 0.45, a K% of 31%, just a 7% BB%, 0.63 Avg., and .127 Slug allowed.
John Rhodes came to LAD from Baltimore in the minor league version of the Rule 5 draft. He had 3 hits for AA Tulsa last night, including his 1st HR & 2nd HRs of 2025.
Dodger team batting average is .225 which rank 18th of the 30 teams. We’re fortunate we’re hitting homeruns to score runs.

All streaks must end sooner or later, let’s face it, Luzardo pitched a gem. Yamamoto did not pitch badly; his own throw was his downfall. Yates not effective for the first time, plus some shoddy baserunning by the boys. Sasaki gets the start today at 1:05 PST, 2:05 my time. Today is my granddaughters 29th birthday. And we got snow today here in Canon City.
Feduccia can play 1B, and I imagine this is a “showcase” to increase his trade value. Catchers are always in demand.

yamamoto six innings 1 run? i’ll take that all day! yates was not “yates” like ! And Max whiffed again. Kike 3 whiffs. And chris taylor has been relegated to a pinch runner ! No time to panic, but maybe Bote would make more sense on the bench than say Taylor? Just asking?
Congrats to Hunter Feduccia, though he was not my first-through-fifth choice. But Rushing should get more reps behind the plate.
Can Feduccia play 1B at all? I’m guessing he’ll get some starts at catcher to provide a lefty bat. Looks like Kike will play 1B until Freddie’s return.
I was hoping for a few more historic wins before the streak ended, but at least Edman made it interesting in the 9th. (Edman for MVP!) Sadly fitting that it would end with the 26th player, Taylor, caught stealing by Realmuto. (Where is Estuery Ruiz when you need him?)
The Phillies are very strong.
For the last couple of seasons I was hoping the Dodgers would deal for Luzardo, but the Phils prevailed. The “Jesus Lizard,” as the Pitching Ninja calls him, outpitched Yamamoto and makes the Phillies’ rotation as strong as any in the game. The Dodgers may have more depth, but the Phils front four may be better–with or without Shohei. And their offense is formidable.

“I don’t think I’d suddenly start using it. I wouldn’t completely rule out the possibility, but I’m very satisfied with my current bat, and I feel like I’m getting the right feel from it. So, for now, I think I’ll stick with the bat I’m using.”
