Some good and bad in this one. The bad? After LHSP Adam Serwinowski had a great start in his last game, he returned to his early season concerns. Disagree, not disagreeable
They are 20-11! What kind of shakeup would be apropos? Please don’t say a new hitting coach! Actually, that would be funny.
Starlight Express was actually even worse than Cats. That’s a better comparison
It is way too early to even think of a major shakeup. Adjusting the batting order is about all Doc has been doing. I have no answers for why Freddie, Teo and Tucker are struggling like they are, but watching Pages, I see him slipping back into the bad habits he had last year. Tucker is a notorious first ball hitter, think Seager. But right now, his timing seems off, and he is not swinging at good pitches to hit. Freddie seems like his age is catching up some. He has been missing fastballs he normally drives, and I believe the frustration level for him is at an all-time high. Teo is chasing again. He wasn’t doing that during spring training when he was really hitting the ball hard. But last year, the team went through a stretch exactly like this. They will hit eventually. They have too much talent not to. And remember, the lower tier teams have no chance of being in the pennant race. Their big games are when they play the superteams. When they beat them, it is like winning the pennant.
Since going 10-2 from April 3-15, the Dodgers are 6-7 over their last 17 games. The starting pitching has been excellent. The offense, not so much. All 7 losses were by 3 runs or less. 3 of them by just 1 run. In those 7 losses, only twice did they score more than 3 runs.
